Chapter 223 - Game of Tennis: Roman

I felt at ease with Hannah peacefully asleep next to me in bed. Her hair was tousled about on the pillow case, her face placid; she looked like an angel.

Despite the fact that I had told Hannah that I forgave her brother, I didn't totally trust him. He had certainly meant to protect Hannah, but in the process had tried to harm me and scared Hannah half to death. The army had clearly taught him skills, but not quite how to reason with someone.

I settled down next to my love, watching her chest rise and fall, her easy breath rhythmically lulling me to relax.

Like the soft feeling of butterfly wings, I kissed her forehead.

"Sweet dreams, Hannah," I said.

The next morning I awoke to find Hannah next to me, opening her eyes.

"How was your sleep?" I said.

"Good." She stretched out her arms, sitting up a bit. "It was so nice to be back in my own bed - and next to you. Besides not having you there, do you know what I missed the most?"

"No, what?"
