Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Return to Eldenbrook

The forest seemed brighter as Liora stepped back through the archway. Birds sang in cheerful bursts, and the brook's laughter echoed like a welcome home. Yet everything felt different. She carried the garden's quiet within her, a stillness that softened the edges of the world.

By the time she reached Eldenbrook, the village was stirring awake. Smoke curled from chimneys, and the baker's cart rattled down the lane. To everyone else, it was an ordinary morning. To Liora, it was extraordinary.

She tucked the glowing blossom safely into her satchel, its faint light hidden but steady. Though she longed to tell the villagers what she had seen, she hesitated. Would they believe her? Or dismiss her words as another fanciful tale?

That evening, she sat by the hearth with her younger cousins. Their eyes sparkled as she spoke of silver-feathered birds, whispering willows, and fountains that sang. They gasped and laughed, leaning closer with every word.

The adults smiled indulgently, shaking their heads. "A fine imagination," they said. But Liora noticed something — the children's dreams seemed brighter that night, their laughter lighter. Perhaps the garden's gift was not meant to be proven, but shared in stories.

And so she began to tell them, weaving the wonders into tales that warmed hearts and sparked curiosity. Eldenbrook remained the same, yet quietly, something had begun to change.
