Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Fountain’s Gift

Drawn by its song, Liora approached the fountain at the garden's center. Its waters shimmered with light, spilling over carved stone in patterns that seemed alive. She knelt, gazing into its depths.

At first, she saw only her reflection. But then the water shifted, showing visions of paths yet to come. She saw herself walking through distant forests, meeting companions whose faces she did not yet know, facing trials that tested her spirit. Yet always, she carried a light within her — a quiet strength born from this very place.

Tears welled in her eyes. "It's beautiful," she whispered.

The Keeper nodded. "The fountain shows not certainty, but possibility. It reminds you that your journey is yours to shape, but you will never walk it without guidance."

From the fountain's edge, a single blossom rose, glowing faintly in the twilight. The Keeper plucked it gently and placed it in Liora's hands. Its petals were soft, yet warm, as though it carried the heartbeat of the garden itself.

"This will guide you back," the Keeper said. "Should you ever lose your way, the blossom will remind you of the quiet wonders you carry within."

Liora held the flower close, feeling its warmth seep into her chest. She understood now: the garden was not just a hidden sanctuary, but a promise. That even in the noise of the world, there would always be places of stillness, and she could carry that stillness wherever she went.

As dawn touched the horizon, the garden began to fade. The colors softened, the sounds grew distant, and the archway shimmered once more.

The Keeper's voice lingered like a lullaby. "Go, child of wonder. Your story has only begun."

With the blossom glowing faintly in her hand, Liora stepped back through the archway, returning to the forest. Birds sang, the brook laughed, and the world felt both familiar and new.

She was no longer just a girl from Eldenbrook. She was a bearer of quiet wonders.
