James reached out and pulled Yvonne into his arms. He wanted to do this when she talked about her mother a moment ago.
Yvonne didn't move and let him hold her. She leaned her head on his chest and slowly said, "I must find out the truth. This is what I should do as a daughter."
Her tone was a little firm.
If she couldn't even do this, she would feel ashamed of herself.
Hearing this, James felt a little frustrated. He paused and said, "If you insist, I'll join you. I feel so sorry for what I said before. I shouldn't have forced you to say it all."
James was blaming himself.
Yvonne could understand how he felt. If she were him, she would do the same.
Yvonne did not blame James. After a pause, she said, "It's all in the past."
Then they stayed quietly in the car for a while.
James was about to start the car when his phone rang.
James checked and found it was his assistant Hammer. He then quickly picked up the call.
