Chapter 1 - THE GIRL NOBODY NOTICES

The morning bell rang loudly across the school compound, signaling the start of another day.

Students rushed through the gates, laughing, shouting, and greeting their friends. Uniforms were neatly worn, bags swinging, voices mixing into a loud, lively chaos.

But in the middle of it all… she walked alone.

Her name was Amara.

No one really paid attention to her. Not because she was strange, but because she chose not to be noticed.

Her neatly packed hair rested calmly on her shoulders. Her books were carefully arranged in her bag. Her steps were quiet, steady, and unbothered by the noise around her.

"Good morning," a girl passed by and greeted her friend beside Amara.

Amara heard it… but no one said it to her.

She didn't react.

She never did.

Inside the classroom, students gathered in groups.

Some were discussing assignments. Others were laughing about something funny from the previous day.

Amara sat at the back corner seat, near the window. It was her usual spot. Peaceful. Quiet. Invisible.

She opened her notebook and began writing.

Her handwriting was neat. Her focus was sharp.

"Hey, can someone help me with this?" a student asked loudly.

A group immediately gathered around.

Amara didn't look up.

Moments like that didn't concern her.

At exactly 8:15 AM, the classroom door creaked open.

A boy stepped in.

The room shifted instantly.

Whispers began.

"Is that him?"

"He transferred yesterday…"

"He's the son of a big businessman…"

"He's so… different."

His name was Kian.

Tall. Calm. Observant.

Unlike the others, he didn't smile much. His eyes scanned the room slowly, as if he was searching for something—or someone.

The teacher pointed to an empty seat.

"Take that one at the back."

The seat… was right beside Amara.

Kian walked down the aisle.

The class went quiet.

As he reached his seat, he paused for a second… then looked at the girl beside him.

She was reading.

Not staring.

Not pretending.

Just reading.

Kian sat down.

No greeting. No introduction.

Just silence.

Minutes passed.

Then suddenly—

"Your pen is leaking," Kian said calmly.

Amara paused.

She looked at her hand.

Ink had slightly stained her fingers.

She closed her pen and placed it aside.

"Thanks," she replied softly.

That was the first time she had spoken in class that day.

Kian nodded slightly.

Then he said something unexpected.

"You're different from the others."

Amara didn't respond immediately.

She continued writing.

After a short pause, she said quietly:

"No. I'm just not interested in noise."

Kian smirked faintly.

Interesting.

Outside, the school continued buzzing with life.

But at the back corner of the classroom, something had just begun.

And neither of them knew…

That their lives were about to change.
