Riley's POV
Stepping out of the bathroom, I find Mason perched on the edge of my bed. The moment his eyes land on me, he shoots to his feet, his fingers gently tilting my chin upward to examine the angry red mark Stella left behind. Raw fury blazes in his dark eyes, and I can practically feel the tension radiating from his rigid frame.
He turns toward the door, his jaw clenched tight, but I catch his arm before he can storm out. "Please don't, Mase." The desperation in my voice makes him freeze, though he doesn't turn around. "Look, I get that you want to help, but going after her will only make things worse. I don't need more drama in my life, and neither do you."
I move closer, watching as his shoulders gradually relax. When he finally faces me, the anger has softened into something that looks almost like guilt. "Riley, I'm so damn sorry. Caleb told me he'd uninvited her and her little crew. I never should have left you alone. I should have known she'd pull something like this."
