Riley's POV
"Buttercup?" Jace shouts, his face lighting up with that mischievous grin. "Perfect! I'm claiming that nickname right now!"
I shake my head, unable to suppress my eye roll. Before I can protest, he slides up next to me and drapes his arm casually around my shoulders.
"Come on, buttercup. Time to hit those carnival games so you can actually win something for once."
Zoey immediately smacks him on the back of his head with surprising force. "Too late, idiot. That nickname belongs to me now." Her voice carries that smug tone she uses when she knows she's gotten under his skin.
Jace just laughs, completely unbothered by the hit. "Not happening. I called it first, which means it's mine."
I let both of them drag me toward the game booths, their bickering filling the air as they continue their ridiculous argument about who gets naming rights over me.
