Mikhail took in a deep breath and pretended he hadn't seen a ghost in the mirror.
'It's best if I don't get involved in this.' He thought. 'I don't want to deal with a ghost.'
Rubbing his temples, he sat down on the sofa that was placed a few metres away from the bed.
Kevin followed right after, dropping onto the same sofa and casually crossing his legs on the low table in front of them.
Eimi glanced at them but didn't say anything, keeping her silence.
The little girl was lost in her thoughts and she refused to sleep as well.
After a while, she said in a gentle tone. "Can we talk?"
Mikhail looked at her and nodded. "Sure."
"…D-do you believe me?" She asked after some hesitation. "I know papa thinks I am lying."
Kevin took the lead and smiled. "We believe you, pumpkin." He said gently. "Otherwise we wouldn't have taken the mission to keep you safe."
'Way to manipulate a teenage girl, Kevin.'
Mikhail thought inwardly, though he didn't say anything.
