Aria's POV
Lucian came home smelling like two hours of highway and cold air and I didn't even let him put his keys down before I crossed the room and kissed him.
He made a surprised sound against my mouth. Then his hands found my waist and he kissed me back properly, slow and warm, and for about thirty seconds I forgot that the world was actively falling apart around us.
"Hi," he said when we pulled apart.
"Hi." I stepped back. "How was Callum?"
"Scared. Cooperating." He dropped his keys on the table and shrugged off his jacket. "Reeves had someone inside Clearwater two weeks ago. Posed as a delivery driver."
"Derek told me." I handed him the coffee I'd made when I heard the car. "He also told me about Mara Voss."
"He's fast."
"I told him to be." I leaned against the counter watching him drink. "She filed that report on Iona Callum the same day she examined her. Sent it directly to an external address that Derek's still tracing."
