Lady Mineah stared down at su-ah, crossing her arms under her large breasts. She had short green hair that had been left to fall down her shoulders, her lips and face devoid of makeup. But the anger and distaste for su-ah or rather, Seraphina, was unmistakable.
"What? If they let you out of those cuffs, you'd hit me back?" Lady Mineah asked, poking su-ah in the chest with her index finger.
Su-ah chuckled softly, snapping her head in Lady Mineah's direction. "Do you think I'm incapable of hitting you? Who the fuck do you think you are?"
[System warning: Control your emotions.]
[Free trail has successfully ended. Hard mode starts in; 00: 00: 20]
Su-ah stared at the green translucent window panel hovering behind Lady Mineah.
Control her emotions? Ha! If she was given the chance, she would rip the hand this insane lady had used to hit her.
'Free trial has successfully ended, what does that mean?' su-ah asked herself, her frown deepening as she stared at those words.
"It seems the king was right. You're running mad." Lady Mineah suddenly said, nodding her head in understanding.
Su-ah swallowed hard before asking, "Can you please explain to me, why I just got hit?"
Lady Mineah chuckled loudly at her words, her voice seemed to bounce off the walls due to how loud she was.
Lady Mineah grabbed su-ah by the jaw, tilting her head upwards and forcing the poor girl to stare into her eyes.
"You want to know why I slapped you? You can easily guess why, if you'd just use your god-damned brain!" Lady Mineah half yelled. "You, you're nothing but a slut. You already belong to the dragon king but you just had to seduce my fiance, didn't you?"
"I never seduced anyone." su-ah said firmly and the woman in front of her merely snorted at her words.
Lady Mineah took a step away from su-ah, releasing her jaw. She pulled out a white kerchief from somewhere in her dress before wiping her hands, her face scrunched up in nothing but disgust.
"My Lady, we need to get her back to the room the king assigned to her." One of the armoured guards behind su-ah stepped between the two women before saying politely.
"Humph, you should explain the rules clearly to her while you do that. I doubt if she'd last more than a day in this palace." Lady Mineah said to the guard. "Carry on."
Lady Mineah's gaze flickered to su-ah one last time, her lips curling into a smirk before she turned and walked towards the exit.
"Who is she?" Su-ah asked the guard standing in front of her, but then she paused. "Who are you?"
The guard standing in front of her turned around. He slapped a hand over his forehead, letting out a groan in nothing but frustration.
"That's Lady Mineah. She was betrothed to the late prince Alan. You should avoid angering her because anything she does to you would definitely be pardoned by the king." The guard said calmly.
"Oh?" Su-ah muttered, she didn't know what to say at this point.
That crazy lady was simply grieving and at this point, su-ah didn't want to anger anyone. She had to find out where exactly she was. How to get to heaven or hell, she'd literally choose anyone if she was given the chance.
The second armoured guard finally stepped forward, his eyes were devoid of any emotion unlike the one that had stepped between su-ah and Lady Mineah.
"We should get her back to her room." He said in a deep voice, reaching for su-ah's arm and this time...she let him grab it.
"What should I call you both?" Su-ah asked softly and the guard that was calmly holding onto her hand raised a brow at her words.
"I'm Williams. That's Owen. I'm surprised you don't know our names." Williams said, slightly confused.
"News flash, I don't know anyone here." Su-ah said with a shrug, laughing.
"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?" Owen asked this time, reaching for su-ah's other arm.
"No?" Su-ah responded sounding a bit unsure as tilted her head to the side. "No?" Su-ah said, tilting her head slightly, uncertainty creeping into her voice.
"Come. We'll take you to your room." Williams said flatly.
The moment Su-ah stepped out of the grand hall, it seemed the atmosphere had changed completely.
The hall behind her had been wide and made her feel intimidated, but this corridor, it just overwhelmed her in an entirely different way.
The long corridor stretched endlessly in different directions, its ceilings high and supported by tall marble pillars that had unfamiliar carving engraved on them. The hallway was lit by candle's, that had been placed on several candle holders down the hallway.
It looked less like a palace hallway and more like something from her dreams.
Servants moved hurriedly down the corridors, they were dressed in neat brown dresses, white aprons placed on top of the dress as they walked past in small groups.
Some maids carried trays containing tea, others holding baskets filled with linens. Their soft footsteps could barely be heard if you didn't listen well.
But when a few of them noticed su-ah, they slowed down.
"Poor girl, I can't believe she went from being the king's favourite consort...to being a mere murderer." A maid with brown hair muttered as she walked past su-ah.
"You don't have to feel pity for her. She just got demoted, that's all." The girl standing beside the first maid said and their words just made su-ah frown.
But honestly, she just chose to ignore them. She could feel every muscle in her body aching slightly as if she had been beaten and dragged across hot coal.
Her head throbbing faintly and her limbs felt strangely heavy. Someone going through this wouldn't even care what other people thought about them.
'I need sleep,' she thought, letting out a small yawn.
And time...time to figure out what the hell was going on.
The guards continued leading her down the golden corridors. Their metal armour clinked faintly against each other as they moved and su-ah found herself staring at their broad back.
Su-ah pulled her gaze away from Williams and Owen, stopping in front of a massive mirror that was mounted along the wall.
It was taller and larger than any mirror she had ever seen. Before they walked past it, she decided to just take a sneak peek at her reflection before walking past it.
But she instantly came to regret her decision. Why? Because when she stared at her reflection, she frowned.
"Who are you?"
