In early 2120, the forced implementation of the Registration Event (RE) caused widespread unease among people around the world.
One day, a family of three arrived at the psychic hut of the witch Linida Procia. According to rumors, the small building possessed mysterious powers—through a rift in time and space, it could foresee the future and reveal what was yet to come. That was precisely why the family had come.
Pushing aside the beaded curtain made of strings of gemstones, they stepped inside. The interior was dazzling: silk fabrics hung everywhere, carpets covered the floor, and strange patterns decorated the walls. The curious child was immediately fascinated and reached out to touch one of the objects, only to be stopped by his mother.
Unlike the mother and son, the father appeared extremely reluctant. He did not believe in such things and only worried that this nonsense would mislead the child. He suggested that they should leave as soon as possible. However, his wife urged him to calm down, keep an open mind, and at least listen to what the witch had to say.
At that moment, Linida emerged from a room deeper inside the hut. After the three sat down, the mother—having already negotiated the price—got straight to the point. She wanted to know what the future held and what path her family should take.
Unhurried, Linida brought out several mystical instruments and asked about the family's zodiac signs and constellations. The mother and son answered fluently throughout the process, while the father stood aside with his arms crossed, silent and full of disdain, watching the witch perform her ritual.
When the ritual was finished, Linida calmly told them that the end of the world was approaching. She advised them to stockpile supplies and stay indoors; if they did so, they would survive safely after several years.
The mother believed her words completely. The father, however, could no longer tolerate the situation. In just a few sentences, the witch had supposedly determined the course of their lives for years to come. Unwilling to accept the prophecy, he refused to pay and declared that these tricks were nothing but fraud. Turning around, he prepared to leave with his wife and son.
His words infuriated Linida. Feeling insulted, she decided to show them her most treasured artifact. She led the family into a separate chamber and drew the curtains, plunging the room into darkness. Only a few candles provided faint light.
At the center of the room sat a massive crystal ball.
As Linida placed her hands upon it, the crystal sphere began to glow, faint ripples of light moving across its surface. Her lips parted slightly and her pupils seemed to lose focus. Even the skeptical father was startled by the scene and dared not approach.
"What do you see?" the mother asked anxiously.
"I see the dead," Linida murmured. "So many dead people."
"Who did it?" the boy asked curiously. "Aliens?"
His mother quickly interrupted him. "The military?" she guessed. "A world war?"
Linida continued, saying that people were infected with a virus.
"Is it a zombie virus?" the boy asked, but his increasingly anxious mother immediately covered his mouth.
The impatient father believed he had already seen through the trick. He stepped forward, intending to expose the deception. But when he lifted a curtain in the corner of the room, he discovered that the equipment behind it was not connected to any power source.
He froze in shock, turning back toward the witch in disbelief.
"Will someone save us?" the mother asked, nearly on the verge of tears.
Linida replied that she saw crowds of people embracing a man.
"That must be our hero," the boy said excitedly.
But the mother only cared about one thing. "Is he from the government?"
Under that man's leadership, Linida said, the people would regain new life and rise up in resistance.
However, at that moment Linida suddenly tilted her head. She turned sideways and slowly looked up toward the ceiling. For some reason, terror spread across her face.
Then she screamed.
Her hands left the crystal ball as she collapsed to the ground, convulsing violently. She began shouting madly, repeating the same words again and again:
"The end is coming."
The crystal ball slipped from her hands and shattered on the floor. Terrified, the family hurriedly fled the hut, dragged away by the father.
Meanwhile, somewhere else, at another Registration Event (RE), a man stood among the crowd. Under the watchful eyes of several police officers, he suddenly began making the same gestures, repeating the exact same words:
"The end is coming. The end is coming."
