Chapter 6 - Night Hunt

Night slowly returned to Beacon Hills.

The quiet streets became darker as the sun disappeared behind the hills.

Streetlights flickered on.

Cars drove through the town.

Most people were preparing for dinner or relaxing at home.

But in the shadows of Beacon Hills…

Predators were awake.

Aiden Blackwell drove slowly through the town.

Beside him, Allison Argent looked out the window curiously.

"So… where are we going now?" she asked.

Aiden thought for a moment.

"There's a good view of the whole town from the hill near the preserve."

Allison smiled.

"That sounds nice."

The car soon reached the edge of the forest.

The large wooded area known as the Beacon Hills Preserve.

Aiden parked the car.

The night air was cool and quiet.

Crickets chirped in the distance.

Allison stepped out and looked toward the trees.

"It's beautiful here."

But Aiden wasn't looking at the view.

His Hellhound instincts were focused on something else.

The forest.

Something inside it felt wrong.

Violent.

Hungry.

Aiden's eyes narrowed.

That presence…

It was familiar.

The Alpha.

Peter Hale was hunting tonight.

Meanwhile—

Inside the forest—

A terrified man ran between the trees.

Branches scratched his face as he stumbled forward.

Behind him—

A low growl echoed through the darkness.

Red eyes appeared between the shadows.

Peter moved silently like a predator.

The man tripped and fell.

Before he could stand—

Peter landed in front of him.

The Alpha's glowing eyes burned with madness.

"You shouldn't run," Peter said quietly.

The man screamed.

But the forest swallowed the sound.

Back near the car—

Aiden suddenly turned his head.

His eyes flickered with hellfire.

He had heard the scream.

Allison noticed his reaction.

"What's wrong?"

Aiden thought quickly.

"I think someone's in trouble."

Allison frowned.

"In the forest?"

Aiden nodded.

"I'll check it out."

Allison crossed her arms.

"I'm coming too."

Aiden shook his head immediately.

"No."

"Why not?"

"It could be dangerous."

She gave him an annoyed look.

"I'm not helpless."

Aiden almost laughed.

If only you knew.

But he couldn't reveal the supernatural world yet.

"Wait here," he said calmly.

Before Allison could argue again—

Aiden had already run into the forest.

The moment he entered the trees—

His speed increased.

The Hellhound instincts guided him like a predator.

Within seconds he reached the clearing.

And there—

He saw him.

Standing beside the body of a victim.

The Alpha.

Peter Hale slowly turned his head.

His glowing red eyes landed on Aiden.

For a moment—

The forest became completely silent.

Peter sniffed the air.

Then his expression changed.

Confusion.

Curiosity.

"…You're not a werewolf."

Aiden smiled slightly.

"And you're not subtle."

Peter tilted his head.

"You smell like fire."

Aiden's eyes ignited with orange flames.

Peter's grin widened.

"Interesting."

The Alpha stepped closer.

"You're something rare."

Aiden crossed his arms.

"And you're a murderer."

Peter laughed softly.

"Everyone hunts."

His eyes glowed brighter.

"Some of us are just better at it."

Then suddenly—

Peter moved.

His speed was explosive.

A normal human wouldn't even see the movement.

But Aiden did.

Peter's claws slashed toward Aiden's chest.

Aiden stepped aside effortlessly.

The claws sliced through the air.

Peter's eyes widened slightly.

Fast.

Very fast.

Aiden raised his hand.

Hellfire burst from his palm.

Peter jumped back immediately.

The flames scorched the ground where he had been standing.

Now it was Peter's turn to look surprised.

"Hellfire…" he muttered.

Then realization appeared in his eyes.

"A Hellhound."

Aiden didn't answer.

Peter started laughing again.

Beacon Hills just got interesting.

"You're new in town," Peter said.

"But you should understand something."

His voice became colder.

"This town belongs to me."

Aiden smiled slowly.

"Not for long."

For a moment—

The two predators stared at each other.

Alpha Werewolf.

Ancient Hellhound.

The air between them felt heavy with power.

Then suddenly—

Police sirens echoed somewhere in the distance.

Peter clicked his tongue.

"Another time."

With unnatural speed—

He disappeared into the forest.

The darkness swallowed him completely.

Aiden didn't chase him.

Not yet.

His power was still growing.

But soon—

That Alpha would become prey.

Aiden looked down at the body on the ground.

Another victim of Peter Hale.

His eyes burned quietly with hellfire.

"This hunt has already started."

A few minutes later—

Aiden returned to the car.

Allison looked worried.

"Did you find anything?"

Aiden opened the door.

"Probably just an animal."

She looked relieved.

"Good."

But Aiden looked toward the dark forest behind them.

His eyes glowed faintly.

Because tonight…

He had finally met the monster responsible for the chaos in Beacon Hills.

And the next time they met—

One of them would fall.

The hunt between the Alpha and the Hellhound had begun.
