Alpha Orion Rigel stood on the balcony overlooking the training grounds. Warriors clashed below, their movements fast and precise.
Normally,watching his pack train brought him a sense of control. Today, his mind refused to focus.
His wolf paced restlessly inside him.
Something's wrong.
Orion frowned.
Nothing had changed.
The pack is strong.
His warriors is ready.
All of his wolves are content.
Their enemies were quiet.
Yet his wolf, Amarok remained uneasy.
Then a familiar scent drifted through the air.
Soft.
Warm.
Human.
His gaze snapped toward the courtyard.
Hallia Delan was crossing the training grounds carrying a basket of fresh linens.
Several warriors slowed as she passed, watching the human curiously.
Amarok stand on attention . He send his agitation through the warrior link.
Yet his men didn't stop staring while Hallia passed by.
His wolf growled, angry this time. And her warriors scrambled to train again.
Her.
Orion's jaw tightened.
Impossible.
She is human.
And after everything that had happened with his former Luna, he had no interest in getting close to any woman again.
Especially not someone so fragile. Yet his wolf refused to calm down.
Instead, it watched Hallia carefully as she walked.
As if she were something important.
Orion turned away sharply.
" You're being ridiculous," he muttered.
But deep inside, his wolf whispered something dangerous.
" Watch her. Protect her."
