Amara woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. The events of last night replayed in her mind. She remembered the stranger in the bar, his deep voice, the way he looked at her.
She checked her phone, expecting a message from her ex. There was nothing. Just silence.
Her phone buzzed suddenly. A message from an unknown number:
"Good morning. I hope you remember me from last night."
Amara froze. Her heart raced. Could it be him? The billionaire stranger?
She stared at the screen, debating whether to reply. Before she could decide, there was a knock at the door.
It was her ex's brother, standing there in a suit, holding a briefcase. He looked exactly like the man from the bar.
"I think we need to talk," he said calmly.
Amara's mind went blank. She didn't know what to say. Why was he here? How did he know where she lived?
This was supposed to be a normal morning. Now everything felt wrong.
