Chapter 4 - 4

"He didn't get any treasures, did he?" Looking at Davan's departing back, Marn let out a sneer before muttering a single word…

"Coward."

He belonged to the same mercenary group as Davan and was looking for herbs in the vicinity when he was startled by the tremors. And when he saw the sight of a building appearing from the ground, he immediately knew what it was.

Initially, he wanted to rush in, but before he could even take a step forward, he saw the figure of Davan standing there, and after a brief hesitation, he rushed in.

Even though he wanted to follow suit, he knew perfectly what type of person Davan was. He was a coward… a coward who even after stumbling upon a peerless opportunity would hesitate.

And sure enough. Not even ten breaths passed, and he already rushed out of the dungeon and rushed directly towards the town.

The glowing light emitting from his body was more than enough to tell Marn that the first floor of the dungeon was enveloped in darkness.

Watching his departing figure, which seemed to be in a hurry, he already knew that Davan was making his way towards the market to buy some essentials.

He sat there in silence for a while and then, without any hesitation, rushed directly in.

Inside the dungeon, Reon, who was moving some traps around, was stunned to find his connection with the floor had disappeared and sure enough, a figure once again rushed in.

"So soon?" At first, Reon thought that the person who rushed out had returned, but to his surprise, it was a different person.

"Eh! Someone else?" Reon watched intently as the newcomer held a small sword and watched around nervously, expecting something to pop out from the darkness, but even after a while, when nothing happened, he visibly relaxed, took out a small stone, and rubbed it gently. And the next moment, the stone gave off a hazy glow, illuminating the surroundings, letting him see clearly.

He then placed the sword in his mouth, put his back on one side of the wall and his legs on the other side as he slowly began to climb up.

It wasn't until he reached to the top that he stopped and looked around.

Reon's first thought was that the man was hoping to reach the top of the walls of the maze so he could have a clear view. He had expected such a scenario while designing the floor, so he merged the walls to both the floor and the roof.

Just as he thought, when Marn entered the dungeon and saw that he was in a maze, his expression was that of a similar frustration, but unlike Davan before him, he made his way to the top, hoping to find a loophole, but to no avail.

"As expected." After seeing that the walls were merged with the roof, he could only shake his head. But he didn't immediately climb down, but stayed in that position. He even put the stone back in his robe, making his surroundings pitch black once again.

"Interesting." Reon, who was watching everything from start to finish, clicked his tongue in wonder.

Every second for both of them passed excruciatingly slow. And just when Reon was wondering what this guy wanted to do, he saw the entrance to the cave squirm as the familiar figure of Davan once again entered the dungeon.

But unlike before, he was carrying a heavy bag that was full of supplies.

The first thing Davan did after entering the dungeon was to take out another piece of paper and tear it, illuminating the surroundings.

He then placed the bag on the floor, reached inside it and after fiddling for a while, took out a large bear trap.

"Huh!?" Reon watched in confusion, wondering what he was trying to do.

Davan took a glance around and then, without any hesitation, placed the bear trap directly in front of the Dungeon Entrance.

"....."

"....."

"How devious." After a brief silence, Reon couldn't help but curse him for being such a sneaky rat and at the same time, he reminded himself never to trust anyone in this world.

After placing the bear trap and activating it, Davan nodded in satisfaction and even spilt some poison on the edges of the trap.

It was only then that he looked at the narrow pathway leading further in, grabbed his bag and began to walk slowly.

But not even five steps later, Davan felt something jumping from the top towards him.

He didn't even have time to react when a small sword was plunged into the top of his head and exited through his chin.

"HOLY SHIT." Reon, who just saw such a bloody scene, almost jumped up in response. This was the first time he saw someone being so ruthless and decisive.

Who would have thought that the first person to enter his dungeon would meet his end in such a short amount of time?

But this surprise of his lasted only for a brief moment of time when it was overshadowed by the happiness that was brought by a sudden pop-up.

[A Lvl 0 being died inside the dungeon. Awarding 10 Anima.]

Reon wasn't expecting that a single death would give him this much Anima.

Without any hesitation, he shouted at the top of his lungs.

"ADD… ADD NEW FLOOR."

[10 Anima needed for floor creation.]

[Confirm?]

"Confirm, confirm," Reon shouted excitedly. The next moment, he suddenly felt his mind becoming light and a sense of strength unlike anything filled him.

But it wasn't the end; from his perspective, he could see another area appearing directly below the first floor that was twice the size.

Just like the first floor, the second floor was completely empty, devoid of even a single grass or stone.

And just when Reon was about to explore it, another barrage of messages appeared in front of him, one after another.
