Chapter 19 - The Timeline Hunters

Lena's heart pounded as she stared at the message.

"Correction will begin now."

Across the station, the three strangers were still standing there.

Watching.

They looked completely calm while everyone else panicked around the broken platform.

Daniel leaned closer to Lena.

"Are those the people you were talking about?"

Lena nodded slowly.

"I think so."

One of the strangers stepped forward.

He was tall, dressed in a dark coat, with a cold expression on his face.

He raised his phone again.

At the same moment—

Lena's phone vibrated.

DING.

A new message appeared.

"Subject Lena: survival anomaly."

Another message followed.

"Subject Daniel: unauthorized survival."

Daniel swallowed nervously.

"They're talking about us like we're… errors."

Lena's chest tightened.

Because that was exactly what they meant.

To them—

Lena and Daniel were mistakes in time.

Her phone vibrated again.

"Timeline must be restored."

Another message appeared.

"Two deaths required."

Daniel's face went pale.

"They're serious…"

The tall stranger began walking toward them slowly.

The other two followed.

Their steps were calm and steady.

Almost robotic.

Daniel whispered, "We should leave."

But Lena noticed something strange.

The strangers weren't rushing.

They weren't chasing.

They looked completely confident.

Her phone vibrated again.

"Running will not help."

Lena's heart sank.

Another message came.

"All possible escape routes calculated."

Daniel looked around the station nervously.

"You're telling me they can predict where we'll go?"

Lena read the next message.

And her stomach dropped.

"Probability models show you will attempt escape through the north exit."

Daniel whispered, "That's exactly what I was thinking…"

The strangers continued walking closer.

People moved around them without noticing anything unusual.

It was as if they blended into the crowd perfectly.

Her phone vibrated again.

"However…"

Another message appeared.

"There is one variable we cannot calculate."

Lena frowned.

Lena:

What variable?

For a moment, there was silence.

Then the message came.

"You."

Daniel looked confused.

"What does that mean?"

Before Lena could answer—

Another message appeared.

But this time it was from her future self again.

"They can predict choices."

A second message followed.

"But they can't predict courage."

Lena's heart beat faster.

The strangers were now only twenty steps away.

Her future self sent one last message.

"This time… don't run."

Lena looked up.

Rain began falling outside the station doors again.

The tall stranger stopped walking.

His cold eyes met hers.

Another message arrived from him.

"Final warning."

The next message appeared slowly.

"Accept correction… or be erased."

Daniel whispered, "What do we do now?"

Lena slowly tightened her grip on her phone.

Her heart was racing.

But for the first time—

She wasn't afraid.

"Now," she said quietly,

"We fight the future."
