Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Black Ghost

Rain fell over the city like a thin gray veil.

Neon lights reflected across the wet streets, turning the midnight skyline into waves of red, blue, and gold. Cars rushed through the avenues below, their horns echoing between the tall glass skyscrapers.

High above the noise of the city, a lone figure crouched at the edge of a rooftop.

Kiyan.

Rain soaked his coat, but he didn't react. His breathing was slow and steady, almost invisible. From where he sat, he had a perfect view of the building across the street.

His target was inside.

Forty-two floors up.

Penthouse level.

His eyes studied the building with quiet precision.

Two guards at the main entrance. One rotating patrol in the lobby. Four private security personnel near the upper floors. Cameras watching every hallway intersection.

Normal security could stop amateurs.

For Kiyan, it was just information.

He glanced at his watch.

00:17.

Right on time.

Across the street, the diplomat's limousine had arrived ten minutes earlier. The meeting in the penthouse had already begun.

Kiyan slowly stood.

The wind tugged at his coat as he stepped away from the ledge.

Then he vanished.

Inside the penthouse, warm golden lights filled a luxurious office.

Minister Aldric Havel sat behind a polished desk, casually swirling a glass of whiskey.

Two businessmen sat across from him, speaking in low voices.

"The agreement must remain confidential," one of them said quietly.

Havel chuckled.

"Of course. That's exactly why I arranged this private meeting."

Two armed guards stood outside the door.

One of them touched his earpiece.

"Everything clear," he muttered.

Still, something felt wrong.

He couldn't explain it.

Just a strange feeling creeping up his spine.

The elevator doors opened silently on the thirty-ninth floor.

To anyone watching, nothing seemed unusual.

But the camera above the elevator caught something strange.

A shadow moved.

Kiyan stepped out.

His movements were smooth and controlled. Every step was placed carefully to avoid making noise.

A guard turned the corner.

He never saw the attack coming.

Kiyan moved once.

A precise strike to the neck.

The guard collapsed instantly.

Kiyan caught the body before it hit the floor, dragging it quietly behind a service cart.

He continued walking.

Another guard approached from the far end of the hallway.

Kiyan slipped into the blind spot between cameras.

The guard paused.

"Thought I heard something…"

He leaned forward.

Then a hand covered his mouth.

A blade flashed.

The guard went limp.

Kiyan gently lowered him to the floor.

Not a single alarm sounded.

The penthouse door opened without a sound.

Inside, Minister Havel laughed loudly at something one of the businessmen had said.

None of them noticed the door quietly closing behind them.

Kiyan moved across the room like a shadow.

One step.

Two.

Three.

Then he struck.

The blade slid across Havel's throat with perfect precision.

The minister froze.

His glass slipped from his hand and shattered on the floor.

Crimson spread across the desk.

The businessmen stared in shock.

One of them opened his mouth to scream—

But Kiyan was already gone.

The door closed behind him.

Silence filled the room.

Miles away, deep inside an underground facility, rows of monitors displayed surveillance feeds from across the city.

Several analysts watched quietly.

Then one screen flickered.

"Uh… sir?"

A technician leaned closer to the monitor.

"That's strange."

Behind him stood Director Marcus Vale.

"What is it?" he asked calmly.

"The penthouse security cameras just went offline."

Vale frowned slightly.

"Replay the last thirty seconds."

The footage rewound.

A shadow appeared in the hallway.

Two guards collapsed moments later.

Vale's expression hardened.

"…Kiyan."

The room fell silent.

"That wasn't part of the mission plan," one analyst said nervously.

Vale crossed his arms.

"Of course it wasn't."

For years, Kael had been the organization's most effective assassin.

Too effective.

Weapons like him were useful.

Until they became impossible to control.

Vale turned toward the control panel.

"Activate the contingency protocol."

The technician hesitated.

"You mean—"

"Yes."

Vale's voice was cold.

"Eliminate him."

Kiyan stepped onto the rooftop as the rain grew heavier.

The mission was finished.

Extraction point: three blocks east.

Estimated escape time: six minutes.

He started walking.

Then he stopped.

A several of footsteps behind him.

Figures stepped out from the darkness.

Six armed Soldier in Tactical gear.

Kiyan's eyes narrowed slightly.

The squad leader raised his rifle.

"Kiyan."

No greeting or explanatory

Only the sound of safeties clicking off.

Kael understood immediately.

Betrayal.

His voice was calm.

"…So that's how it is."

The squad leader spoke into his headset.

"Target located."

Gunfire exploded across the rooftop.

Kiyan moved instantly.

A flashbang detonated, filling the roof with blinding light and smoke.

He disappeared.

One soldier screamed as a blade pierced his armor.

Another collapsed seconds later.

Kael moved like a ghost.

Fast. Precise. Deadly.

But more soldiers rushed onto the rooftop.

The squad leader stepped back and pressed a detonator.

"End it."

Explosions ripped through the building.

The rooftop cracked apart.

Concrete shattered and Steel beams snapped.

The skyscraper began collapsing inward.

Kiyan looked up.

His escape route was gone.

Debris rained down around him as the massive structure folded like a dying giant.

Below, people screamed as glass and metal crashed into the streets.

Kiyan leaped across a falling beam, searching for a way out.

But there was none.

The building was coming down.

In his final moments, Kiyan didn't panic.

He simply looked up at the falling sky.

"…So this is the end."

Concrete and steel buried him beneath the collapsing tower.

Rain continued to fall.

Emergency sirens echoed through the city.

Firefighters rushed toward the ruins of the collapsed skyscraper.

Crowds gathered behind barricades, whispering.

"What happened?"

"Gas explosion?"

"Structural failure?"

No one knew.

Deep beneath the rubble, Kiyan's body lay still.

The world had lost its most dangerous assassin.

And the city would never know.

But somewhere in the endless darkness…

His consciousness flickered.

A faint pulse.

Then—

Light flash on my sight.
