Synopsis
The Earth entered its new cycle. A new world in which humans especially criminals are no longer judged by court alone. After a nuclear war reshaped the Earth and mutated its ecosystems, humanity discovered a place where nature itself seemed to judge a person’s character. Those who entered either perished or returned vowing never to commit another crime again. Believing nature could see what humans could not, the government built the Criminal Rehabilitation Center around it. Inside, criminals face deadly environments, monstrous creatures, and each other in a series of survival trials broadcast to the entire world. Among the participants is Ren, a smiling young man He does not deny the crime. Yet something about him confuses everyone watching. If Ren is truly a monster… why does nature allow him to survive?

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Island

Ren's eyes fluttered open beneath the blinding light of the sun.

For a moment, everything was white.

Then the world slowly came into focus.

The first thing he saw was the ocean.

Turquoise water stretched toward the horizon, calm and almost too beautiful to be real. Gentle waves rolled against a wide stretch of white sand. Huge rock boulders rose from the sea like natural walls, forming a rough barrier around the island.

Between two of those rocks were narrow openings leading out toward the open water, no more than a hundred meters from the shore.

It looked like paradise.

Ren slowly pushed himself up from the sand.

The heat of the ground seeped through his palms.

Only then did he notice the others.

People were scattered across the beach and grassy area behind him. Some were still lying motionless, while others were beginning to stir. A man groaned nearby, clutching his head. Not far away, a woman suddenly sat upright, her eyes wide with panic.

"What… where are we?"

Her voice broke the silence.

More people began waking up.

Confused voices rose across the island.

"Is this some kind of joke?"

"Who did this?!"

"Where the hell are we?!"

Panic spread quickly among them.

Some stumbled toward the shoreline, staring at the endless sea. Others turned toward the mountains behind the grassy field, where dense forests climbed up the steep slopes.

Ren watched them quietly.

He didn't shout.

He didn't move.

Instead, his gaze slowly swept across the island—the rocks, the ocean, the forest, the strangers.

And then he understood.

This wasn't an accident.

It had finally begun.

The shouting across the beach was growing louder.

Some demanded answers. Others accused the strangers around them as if someone there must be responsible.

"Calm down," a tall man scoffed loudly. He looked completely out of place on the island, dressed in an expensive suit now dusted with sand. Irritation filled his voice. "This is some kind of stupid experiment," he said. "Whoever brought us here must think this is funny."

Nearby, a woman crossed her arms in annoyance. "I have things to do," she snapped. "Someone better explain what this place is."

The man walked toward the shoreline as he spoke, the water rolling over his shoes and around his ankles. Then he kicked at the sand impatiently.

Something small rolled forward. A baby turtle. It had been slowly crawling toward the sea.

The man barely glanced at it. With another careless motion, he kicked the tiny creature toward the water. The turtle let out a faint squeaking sound as it tumbled across the sand. For a moment, nothing happened.

Then the ocean became still.

The waves stopped.

Even the wind seemed to fade.

Ren's gaze shifted toward the water.

Something was moving beneath the surface.

Suddenly the sea erupted.

A massive serpentine creature burst from the water, its scaled body twisting violently as it lunged forward.

Before the man could react, its jaws closed around him. His scream lasted only a second before he was dragged beneath the waves.

The turquoise water turned red. The creature thrashed violently before disappearing beneath the surface again, a huge splash surged toward the shore, knocking the nearby woman backward onto the sand. She lay there trembling, soaked by seawater. The serpent-like creature surfaced once more, its dark eyes fixed on her but she was still on the sand outside the ocean. After several long seconds, the creature slowly sank back beneath the waves.

The sea returned to its calm rhythm.

Then—

A deafening siren blared across the island. The sound echoed through the mountains. A calm mechanical voice followed.

"Welcome to the Criminal Rehabilitation Center."

The words spread across the beach like a quiet verdict.

"Participants will undergo a series of rehabilitation trials. Survival through these trials will determine eligibility for release."

For a moment, no one spoke. Then panic exploded.

"The Rehabilitation Center?!"

"That place is real?!"

"We're criminals?!"

People began shouting over one another. Some staggered backward in fear. Others turned desperately toward the shoreline.

"The ocean!" someone shouted suddenly.

"That thing only attacked because he hurt that turtle!"

Murmurs spread through the crowd.

"That must be it…"

"As long as we don't harm anything in the water, we'll be fine!"

Hope sparked among the desperate players. Several people rushed toward the sea. One man stepped into the water. The ocean exploded again.

A massive serpentine shape surged upward and dragged him under before he could even scream.

Blood spread across the waves.

Panic erupted instantly. People stumbled backward from the shoreline. Then someone noticed something even worse.

"There… look!"

The ocean's surface began to ripple. Dark shapes moved beneath the water. One after another, long scaled bodies slowly rose beneath the surface, their eyes remained above the waterline.

Watching.

Waiting.

More appeared, and more.

The ocean surrounding the island was filled with them. The crowd slowly stepped away from the shore.

No one spoke.

No one moved forward again. The last hope of escape had just died with the waves.

People began retreating toward the sand and grassy field behind them, their faces pale with fear, some sat down heavily while others stared at the ocean in disbelief.

The serpent-like creatures remained just beneath the surface, their dark eyes barely visible above the waterline.

Ren studied the ocean quietly, he noticed something the others hadn't. The creatures never came onto the sand, not even when the terrified crowd stumbled close to the shoreline they stayed in the water. Always in the water.

Ren lowered his gaze toward the tiny turtle that had finally reached the sea. The small creature disappeared beneath the waves.

Nothing attacked it.

Ren slowly looked back at the ocean. So that's how it is. The realization settled calmly in his mind. The ocean was their territory and anything that entered it— Became prey.

Behind him, panic was still spreading among the other contestants but Ren remained where he stood, silent beneath the bright sun. He looked at the sky and blurted: The trial had only just begun.
