Chapter 5 - chapter 5: Body weakness

After thinking through all those memories, Shen Yueling felt a little restless lying in bed.

"…Maybe I should walk around a bit," she muttered.

She slowly pushed the blanket aside and sat up. The movement alone made her feel slightly dizzy, but she ignored it.

"It can't be that bad," she whispered to herself.

Carefully, she stood up from the bed.

For a moment she remained still, waiting for the dizziness to pass. When nothing happened, she took a step toward the door.

Then another.

And another.

But before she could even reach the middle of the room, her legs suddenly felt weak.

Her breathing became heavier.

"Hah…?"

She paused and frowned.

"Why am I already out of breath?"

She had only taken a few steps.

Her chest rose and fell faster, and a strange heaviness spread through her body as if all her strength was slowly draining away.

She placed a hand on the nearby table to steady herself.

"This body…" she muttered under her breath.

"…is seriously weak."

She tried taking another step.

But this time a sudden sharp pain shot through her chest.

"Ugh—!"

She immediately stopped moving.

Her brows tightened as she pressed a hand against her chest.

The pain wasn't constant, but when it appeared, it was sharp and uncomfortable, almost like something inside her body was stabbing her from within.

She closed her eyes and took a few slow breaths.

"Calm down… calm down…"

After a moment, the pain faded slightly.

But the weakness remained.

She leaned against the wall and sighed softly.

"Seriously… what kind of body did I get?"

She lifted her arm and looked at it carefully.

The arm was slender and pale.

Beautiful, yes.

But it looked fragile.

Too fragile.

"This really is a sick princess body," she muttered with a helpless laugh.

She tried walking again, this time moving much more slowly.

Step.

Step.

Step.

But even that small effort made her breathing heavier again.

"Hah… hah…"

She stopped once more and shook her head.

"Okay, this is ridiculous."

"I've only walked a few steps."

She looked toward the door, which suddenly felt much farther away than before.

"If I go outside like this, I might collapse halfway."

She leaned against the wall again and rubbed her forehead.

"This isn't normal."

According to the memories she saw earlier, the original Shen Yueling had always been weak.

But this felt worse than just being weak.

Every now and then, that strange sharp pain would appear inside her body.

It wasn't constant.

But when it came, it felt very real.

Very uncomfortable.

She pressed a hand against her chest again, frowning.

"…Something is definitely wrong with this body."

For a moment, the room fell silent.

Then she sighed again.

"Well, at least the old man kept half his promise."

"A rich family, a beautiful face…"

She glanced at the mirror across the room.

"But the health condition is basically a disaster."

She shook her head.

"If this continues, I won't even be able to enjoy my lazy rich life."

After standing there for a moment longer, she slowly turned back toward the bed.

"Forget it."

"Exploring the mansion can wait."

"Right now, this body clearly needs rest."

She carefully walked back to the bed, moving much slower than before.

By the time she sat down again, her breathing had already become uneven.

"…This is really troublesome."

She lay back on the soft mattress and stared at the ceiling.

The faint pain inside her body still appeared occasionally, reminding her that something wasn't right.

Her brows slowly furrowed.

"Something is definitely wrong with this body."

"But what exactly is it…?"

For now, she didn't have the answer.

But one thing was certain.

Her new life in this body might be more troublesome than she expected.
