Chapter 4: Jonin Instructor
"Phew..."
Inside the Hokage's office in the Hokage Building, the Third Hokage sighed while smoking his pipe.
Kakashi had turned into a girl, and at the moment there was no telling whether there would be any aftereffects. Her strength seemed about the same as before on the surface, but no one knew what the actual situation was.
Tomorrow, the graduating students of this year's Ninja Academy would be assigned their Jonin instructors.
Team 7 had originally been planned to be led by Kakashi, but in her current state, could she still shoulder that responsibility?
If not, then who should replace Kakashi as Team 7's Jonin instructor?
Considering Naruto's special status, the Third Hokage thought it over and ultimately decided that the Wood Release ninja Yamato would serve as Kakashi's backup.
After that, the Third Hokage had someone notify Kakashi to come over so he could hear her thoughts on the matter. If she really could not do it, then Yamato would have to replace her as soon as possible.
Not long after, Hatake Kakashi appeared in the office.
"I'm sorry, Kakashi. I told you yesterday to rest well for three days, yet now I've called you here again."
The Third Hokage set down his pipe with an apologetic expression.
"Well, I got some sleep last night, so I'm already feeling much better."
Hatake Kakashi sounded rather unconcerned.
After seeing Naruto at noon, she had already known the plot was about to begin. There was no way she could escape the role of Jonin instructor, so it was only natural for the Third Hokage to summon her now.
After something like this had happened, she could still sleep?
The Third Hokage glanced at Kakashi in surprise, but that was fine too. He nodded and continued, "That's good. And about what I told you before, having you lead Team 7. In your current condition, is that going to be a problem?"
"That won't be a problem."
Kakashi answered without hesitation. After all, she still needed to do missions to earn rewards.
"Good. Then I'll leave it to you tomorrow."
The moment the Third Hokage heard that reply, he knew the problem was not serious. It seemed Kakashi's body truly was fine.
Mission: Become Team 7's Jonin Instructor Completed
Reward: 1000 Ninja Jewels
So this counted as completing the mission?
When Kakashi heard the system's mechanical notification, she could not help feeling surprised.
When she had seen this mission at noon, she had thought it would only count as complete tomorrow, when she officially became Team 7's Jonin instructor. She had not expected it to be completed already.
After leaving the Hokage Building and returning home, Hatake Kakashi opened the system screen.
She wanted to see what 1000 Ninja Jewels could do.
"I can spend them directly on stat points, or I can buy items in the shop?"
Kakashi looked at the screen in front of her and felt conflicted.
1000 Ninja Jewels was not enough to buy any good Ninjutsu. As for treasure chests, she could only afford a C-Rank chest, and whatever came out of it would be completely random.
After hesitating for a long time, she ultimately decided to spend them directly on stats.
On chakra.
The instant she finished adding the points, her whole body trembled. An unusually comfortable sensation spread through her.
Right afterward, she hurriedly opened her personal panel.
The chakra section had changed to 1.21 Kakashi of chakra.
After obtaining the S-Rank Ninjutsu Super Electromagnetic Rasengan Cannon yesterday, her chakra had also increased a little by 0.2 Kakashi.
"So 1000 Ninja Jewels only increased it by 0.01 Kakashi? That's far less than getting an S-Rank Ninjutsu."
Kakashi frowned slightly. At this rate, if she wanted to rely on Ninja Jewels to raise her chakra to 2 Kakashi, it would take a very long time.
"If no other missions get triggered, and I only do daily missions, that's just 100 Ninja Jewels a day. That means it would take about three years to increase my chakra by 1 Kakashi."
Daily missions were ordinary missions that refreshed every day.
Today's daily mission was to go shopping in women's clothing.
That kind of daily mission only gave 100 Ninja Jewels, and Hatake Kakashi simply did not care enough to do it.
Although she had already bought the clothes and everything, if she got seen by someone she knew, wouldn't that be unbearably awkward?
After all, she had only turned into a girl two days ago, and now she would already be going out in women's clothes. Wouldn't that just make it look like she had been impatient all along and had planned this from the start?
So absolutely not.
October 15th, afternoon.
Konoha Ninja Academy.
"So slow. Why is our Team 7 teacher the only one who still hasn't shown up?"
In the classroom, Uzumaki Naruto was already getting impatient. The teachers of the other classes had all arrived long ago, yet only Team 7 was still stuck waiting.
Suddenly, he thought of a way to get back at the teacher for being late.
With a mischievous grin, Uzumaki Naruto wedged a chalkboard eraser above the classroom door. As soon as whoever was outside opened the door, it would drop and cover them in chalk dust.
The pink-haired girl in the classroom hurriedly spoke up to stop him, though she was only stopping him with her words. Deep down, she was just as excited.
"Hmph. How could a Jonin fall for such a cheap trap?"
At that moment, the black-haired boy sitting behind the desk gave a disdainful snort. In his view, a strong person at the level of Jonin would never fall for something like that.
"Exactly..."
The pink-haired girl immediately realized the same thing and turned to glare at Naruto.
But just then, movement suddenly came from outside the door, and all three of them instinctively looked toward the entrance.
To their surprise, they saw a slender jade-like hand reach in from outside the door, and then the door was pushed open.
The next second, the eraser fell and landed squarely on a head of white hair.
Seeing that, all three of them froze.
No way. A Jonin really could not avoid such a simple trick?
Wait, no.
Was the person who came in really a Jonin?
The one who had pushed open the door was actually a white-haired beautiful girl wearing a white shirt, a black short skirt, and white thigh-high socks.
Naruto and the other two were all stunned.
Although the girl in front of them wore a mask, it was still easy to tell that she was only around sixteen or seventeen years old, only a few years older than them at most.
So how could she possibly be a Jonin?
"Well... how should I put this? My first impression of you all is pretty bad."
Before the three could recover, they heard the girl speak in a lazy tone.
Bang.
Then, with a bang, the girl in front of them instantly vanished. Before disappearing, she left them with a single sentence.
Rooftop. Assemble there.
"A Shadow Clone? No wonder."
The black-haired boy finally snapped out of his shock.
No wonder she had not cared about getting chalk dust on her hair. It had been a Shadow Clone.
But even so, was that girl really their Jonin?
She did not look like one at all.
"It's all your fault, Naruto. Now the teacher hates us!"
The pink-haired girl also came back to her senses and could not help complaining to Naruto beside her.
"Huh?"
Naruto was clearly still in a daze.
That beautiful girl with the stylish outfit had really been their Jonin teacher?
Meanwhile, the black-haired boy at the back had already stood up and started walking outside. Whether she was really their Jonin instructor or not, they would know once they got to the rooftop.
"Wait for me, Sasuke!"
