I collapsed against the front door the moment it closed behind me. I slid to the ground, hands covering my mouth as an opened mouthed smile split my face in half.
A voice had been shouting three words in my head, over and over again.

Those three words were loud enough to drown out the swirling mass of doubts that'd been trying so valiantly to drown out the joy overflowing within me.

Kay reciprocated my feelings. My imagined one sided love affair had been out down like a twenty five year old family dog missing all its teeth, blind in both eyes, and incontenent. Better yet, it'd never existed in the first place!
