Emma's heart was beating wildly.
"Who are they?" she asked nervously.
The mysterious man didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he quickly opened the car door.
"Get in first."
Emma hesitated for a moment. Getting into a stranger's car felt dangerous.
But the sound of approaching footsteps was getting closer.
Very close.
Her fear finally won.
She quickly got into the car.
The man immediately started the engine and the black car sped away into the dark road.
For a few minutes, neither of them spoke.
The rain continued to fall heavily outside.
Emma finally turned toward him.
"Now tell me the truth," she said seriously.
"Who are you?"
The man looked at the road silently.
Then he said calmly,
"My name is Adrian Blake."
Emma frowned slightly.
"And why are people chasing me?"
Adrian sighed quietly.
"Because you are connected to something very dangerous."
Emma stared at him in disbelief.
"That makes no sense. I'm just a normal girl."
Adrian suddenly looked at her.
His sharp eyes were serious.
"Your father wasn't."
Emma froze.
"What… do you mean?"
But before Adrian could answer, a bright light suddenly appeared behind them.
A black SUV was following their car.
And it was getting closer.
Adrian's face darkened.
"Looks like they found us."
Emma felt fear spreading through her chest.
"What are we going to do?"
Adrian pressed the accelerator harder.
His voice became cold and determined.
"Hold tight."
Emma's hands gripped the seat tightly.
Because the real danger…
