Chapter 1: The Mysterious Man
The rain was pouring heavily that night.
Emma was running along the empty street, trying to reach the bus stop before the last bus left.
Her clothes were wet, and the cold wind made her shiver.
"Why does everything bad happen to me at the same time?" she murmured.
Suddenly, a black car stopped right in front of her.
Emma froze.
The car window slowly rolled down.
Inside the car was a man wearing a black suit. His face looked calm, but his sharp eyes were fixed on her.
"Get in," he said.
Emma stepped back immediately.
"I'm sorry… I don't know you."
The man gave a small smile.
"But I know you."Emma's heart skipped a beat.
"How?"
The man slowly opened the car door and stepped out.
He was tall, handsome, and strangely confident.
Rain drops fell on his dark hair as he walked closer to her."Emma Carter," he said softly.
Emma's eyes widened.
"How do you know my name?"
The man looked directly into her eyes.
"Because I've been looking for you."
Emma felt a strange fear growing inside her.
"Why?"
For a moment, the man stayed silent.
Then he said something that completely shocked her.
"Because… you're the only woman who can save my life."
Emma stared at him in disbelief.
"What are you talking about?"
But before the man could answer, a loud sound came from the other side of the street.
Footsteps.
Someone was running toward them.
The mysterious man suddenly grabbed Emma's hand.
"Get in the car," he said urgently.
Emma's heart was beating wildly.
"Why?"
The man looked back at the dark street.
His voice became cold and serious.
"Because they're coming for you."
Emma's breath stopped.
"For… me?"
The man nodded.
"And if they find you tonight…"
He opened the car door quickly.
"…you might not survive."
