CHAPTER 78. SECOND ENCOUNTER
Fury made his way to the heightest wall of the academy, the third year castle.
From there he had a perfect view of the city distance away.
Apart from height level intelligence, Fury could see and hear from miles away. His zone of perception were top notch.
From where he stood he could see the great expanse of Avalon City stretched far, even to the main gates.
The sun was still up in the sky, but not as bright, so it was past noon.
Fury curved up his body and placed his head on the cold slate. His ears stood as he closed his eyes.
He was going to wait.
Hours past and the sun was starting to set, casting an orange shade upon the city.
Fury opened his eyes and glanced at the setting sun
It was a beautiful sight to behold from the top view.
Fury's expression changed to that of boredom and he closed his eyes again, placing his head down.
Few seconds later his ears pricked as he picked up a particular voice from the far distance.
Fury eyes opened as he jerked up. From afar he could see a group of people passing through the city gates on horse back.
Just as he was about to jump off the wall, a calm voice suddenly came from behind.
"Who do we have here?"
Fury paused and turned to see Prince Lyon standing right beside him and staring down at his small figure.
He had suddenly appeared with the flow of the wind.
Fury didn't even hear him coming. He could also sense the intent of people, both good and bad, even emotions.
But looking at Lyon, there was nothing, no form of intent at all from his calm posture.
Fury decided to ignore him. He looked back towards the city gates while waving his tiny paw dismissively at Lyon.
"Ohh, you insolent and intelligent creature"
Lyon smirked.
Just as Fury was about to jump down, a vortex of wind suddenly encircled him.
Fury let out a squeal as his body was lifted off the ground.
He floated towards Lyons face.
"How did a danger beast slipped into the academy, and an advanced tier at that"
Prince Lyon wondered.
Fury let out another squeal as he waved his arms and legs mid air.
"Small, yet high level of intelligence. Hmmm, I wonder what kind of equipment I can craft with your crystal"
Fury suddenly paused.
He looked at Prince Lyon in the eyes with a frown and arms folded.
And then...he let out a piercing squeal.
"SQUEEEEEEEE...."
********
Roman and the others had just returned from their trip.
They were all battered, spent and covered with dirt.
Controlling ki was one thing, but dispelling it for an attack was more tasking than expected.
But if course Roman was the first amongst them to succeed, ki wasn't new to him.
Following behind was Sylver. While Roman's strength was from hard work, Sylver's overwhelming power was pure talent.
Lan trailed behind. Him being taller and muscular than the others, his ki was more active, almost like his personality.
The others were able to achieve results, but it took more time than expected.
"I need a long bath"
Roman breathed out.
"Took the words right out of my mouth"
Lunar grumbled.
"I hate being dirty. And I need a nap"
"We haven't really slept since yesterday have we?"
"Yeah, courtesy you"
Roman let out a chuckle.
"Sorry.."
As the group strolled in on horse back, they watched as the sun began to set. It's orange glow washing over them.
Around them, the area was crowded with people, still about their activities.
Just then, Anya's ears suddenly shifted, slightly.
She caught a familiar sound from the distance.
It's sounded like a... squeal..
"Was that..Fu ...."
"Fury!"
Roman suddenly exclaimed, gaining the attention of the others.
Without a second thought, he leaped off the horse and before his foot could touch the ground, thick red lightning surged around his body and he bolted upwards, disappearing into the distance.
"Roman..."
Slyver called out.
"Come on.."
Lunar said as they both jumped off their horses. Purple lightning engulfed their bodies as Lunar held her shoulders and they blitz into the sky like a comet.
"Now what"
Anya breathed out as she jumped off her horse. She turned to face Sarah.
"Could excort our horses back to the stables. Thanks"
With that, she disappeared. Her figure vanishing before their eyes.
"Nope, I already smell trouble. I ain't following"
Sarah said to herself.
"What was that all about?"
Carl asked.
"I donno, but he looked pretty mad. Damn, I hate to be on the receiving end of that anger right now"
Lan let out a laugh.
***********
Fury had just let out an ear piercing squeal.
Prince Lyon covered both ears as his mind got disoriented for a few seconds.
"Damn you stupid squirrel!"
Lyon let out a loud groan.
He lost his calm composure.
Fury stopped his piercing squeal and looked at Lyon. His small figure was still floating over a vortex of wind.
Lyon glared at the tiny nuisance, who still have its tiny arms folded and a smile that looked like a smirk.
"Bold one aren't you?'
Lyon composed himself.
"Alright then, I'll put you out of your misery"
Lyon smirked. But before he could do anything...
BANG!!!!!
A massive red bolt of lightning shot from the sky and struck were he stood.
It was sudden, but Lyon was swift enough to create a distance before the attack could hit him.
Lyon raised his head and his eyes locked on the figure who had suddenly appeared.
Lyon raised a brow.
"You??"
Roman locked eyes with him, his face visible with anger as red lightning flashed across his body.
"Give. Fury. Back!"
Roman unleashed another bolt of lightning with speed.
Prince Lyon's instinct kicked in and wind around him changed instantly.
His body spun to the side dodging the attack and with the same motion, a wind slash shot forward with intense force towards Roman.
BANG!!!
A loud ring echoed as the wind slash clashed against a round silver shield that suddenly dropped from the sky.
Following suit..
BLITZZ...
A purple lightning bolt flashed across towards Lyon.
Prince Lyon suddenly slammed his palms into the floor and yellow spirit energy mixed with his wind element blew across the place as a vortex of wind pushed him farther away, creating more distance between them and dodging the lightning strike.
Sylver and Lunar landed next to Roman with spirit energy flaring.
Anya appeared beside them seconds later.
Fury let out a squeak as he waved at the group.
Prince Lyon glanced at the squirrel who was still stucked in a vortex following him by his side.
"Ohh, so you're Fury"
He muttered.
Prince Lyon straighten his body.
"I think they've been a misunderstanding here"
He said, his composure returning.
He waved his finger and the wind holding Fury dispersed.
Fury landed on all fours and rushed towards Roman. He climbed Roman's legs, circle around his body, climbed over his shoulders and slipped into Roman's shirt.
He then popped his head out and waved his tiny paws at Lyon.
"Interesting creature you got there"
Lyon chuckled.
The lightning flashing through Roman's body subsided.
"Let's go guys"
Without bothering to respond, Roman turned to leave.
"I hope our third encounter happens in the tournament. That's when I plan to really fight you"
Lyons voice echoed.
Roman glanced at him.
"Same here"
He muttered.
The red lightning flashed through his body along with his team and they bolted upwards into the distance.
Prince Lyon let out a smile as he watched the lightning disappear into the distance.
