The penthouse was unusually quiet.
That alone was suspicious.
Hoseok sat cross-legged on the couch, wearing an oversized hoodie that clearly belonged to Jungkook, sipping juice from his infamous dinosaur cup.
He narrowed his eyes at the room.
"…too peaceful."
From the kitchen, Jin shouted.
"DON'T START!"
Hoseok grinned.
Too late.
Because suddenly—
Jimin appeared from behind the couch and poked his ribs.
Hoseok screamed.
"BETRAYAL!"
Jimin collapsed laughing.
"You jumped so high!"
Taehyung walked in holding popcorn.
"Did I miss the chaos?"
Jimin pointed.
"Sunshine almost launched himself into orbit."
Hoseok glared.
"I was ambushed!"
Taehyung ruffled his hair.
"You're dramatic."
Hoseok gasped.
"I am sensitive."
Yoongi looked up from the dining table.
"You're loud."
Namjoon sighed from the hallway.
"You're all loud."
Jungkook walked in last, stretching.
"Why is everyone screaming at 9 AM?"
Hoseok pointed at Jimin.
"He attacked me."
Jimin shrugged.
"You screamed like a baby seal."
Hoseok threw a pillow at him.
Taehyung caught it mid-air.
"Violence."
"I am defending my honor!"
Yoongi deadpanned.
"You drink from a dinosaur cup."
Hoseok clutched the cup protectively.
"It is comforting!"
Jungkook walked over and sat beside him.
"Also adorable."
Hoseok melted slightly.
"…okay maybe."
Training Round Two
Jungkook clapped his hands.
"Alright."
Everyone groaned.
"Training again?" Taehyung complained.
Hoseok immediately stood up.
"I suddenly feel sleepy."
Namjoon blocked the hallway again.
"No escape."
Hoseok looked betrayed.
"You people are controlling."
Jimin grinned.
"We're mafia."
"…fair."
Jungkook tossed gloves at him again.
Hoseok caught them this time.
Jin nodded approvingly.
"Progress."
Hoseok beamed proudly.
"See?"
Yoongi added dryly.
"Basic motor skills."
Hoseok glared.
"I regret saving your lives emotionally."
Sparring Begins
They moved to the training room.
Jungkook rolled his shoulders.
"Same rules."
Hoseok nodded seriously.
"Try not to die."
"…that's not a rule."
"It should be."
Taehyung and Jimin sat on the floor like spectators.
Jin brought snacks.
Yoongi continued working while occasionally glancing up.
Namjoon watched carefully.
"Focus," Jungkook said.
Hoseok took a breath.
Then moved forward.
Punch.
Jungkook blocked.
Kick.
Jungkook stepped aside.
Hoseok spun and accidentally elbowed him.
Everyone froze.
Jungkook blinked.
"…you actually hit me."
Hoseok gasped.
"I DID!"
Taehyung screamed.
"SUNSHINE EVOLVED!"
Jimin clapped dramatically.
"Character development!"
Hoseok danced proudly.
"I am powerful."
Yoongi muttered, "You're slightly less useless."
Hoseok pointed.
"That's basically a compliment from you."
Yoongi nodded.
"It is."
Then Everything Changed
The security system beeped again.
Namjoon's expression instantly darkened.
Yoongi checked the screen.
"Multiple vehicles approaching."
Jimin frowned.
"That's not normal."
Taehyung leaned closer.
"…that's a lot of men."
Jungkook's jaw tightened.
"Daejin."
Namjoon nodded.
"He's escalating."
Hoseok's stomach twisted.
"How many?"
Yoongi answered calmly.
"Thirty."
Silence fell across the room.
Jin cracked his knuckles.
"Well."
Taehyung smiled darkly.
"This will be fun."
Jimin stretched his arms.
"I needed exercise."
Hoseok blinked.
"You're excited?!"
Namjoon looked at him gently.
"Stay inside."
Hoseok shook his head.
"No."
Jungkook frowned.
"Hoseok."
"I can help."
Jin softened his voice.
"Baby."
Hoseok crossed his arms stubbornly.
"I trained."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow.
"With a lamp."
"It still worked!"
Namjoon stepped closer.
"You're brave."
Hoseok swallowed.
"…I'm terrified actually."
Yoongi nodded.
"Good instinct."
Hoseok huffed.
"Rude."
The Attack
Gunfire exploded outside.
Hoseok jumped.
Jungkook grabbed his hand immediately.
"Stay behind us."
The six men moved like a single unit.
Calm.
Precise.
Terrifying.
Hoseok watched them transform.
They weren't teasing idiots anymore.
They were predators.
Namjoon gave orders.
"Jimin, Taehyung — west entrance."
"Yoongi — surveillance."
"Jin — back hall."
"Jungkook with me."
Everyone moved instantly.
Hoseok's heart pounded.
He hated seeing them in danger.
But he also couldn't just sit there.
Then—
A crash from the side hallway.
Two men burst inside.
Hoseok froze.
They spotted him immediately.
"Well look what we found."
His chest tightened.
Fear creeping up his spine.
But then he remembered Jungkook's voice.
Feet apart. Balance. Breathe.
The first man lunged.
Hoseok moved.
Block.
Kick.
The man stumbled.
Hoseok grabbed the nearest object—
A metal tray.
SMACK.
The attacker dropped.
The second man stared.
"…what?"
Hoseok stared too.
"…I did it again."
The second man rushed him.
Hoseok panicked.
But still moved.
Exactly like training.
Step.
Dodge.
Knee.
The man collapsed.
Hoseok stood there shaking.
"Oh my god."
Then footsteps rushed in.
The six mafia leaders burst into the hallway.
And stopped.
Because Hoseok stood in the middle.
Two attackers unconscious on the floor.
Jimin blinked.
"…what."
Taehyung looked impressed.
"Our sunshine is violent now."
Jungkook walked over slowly.
"You okay?"
Hoseok burst into tears.
"I DIDN'T MEAN TO HIT THEM THAT HARD!"
Jungkook pulled him into a hug.
"You did perfect."
Namjoon checked the men.
"They'll live."
Yoongi smirked slightly.
"Probably."
Jin kissed Hoseok's hair.
"You protected yourself."
Hoseok sniffled.
"I was really scared…"
Jimin squeezed his shoulder.
"You still fought."
Taehyung grinned proudly.
"Our little warrior."
Hoseok blinked.
"…really?"
Namjoon nodded.
"Yes."
Hoseok smiled weakly.
Then yawned.
Little space slowly creeping back.
"Sleepy…"
Jin immediately picked him up.
"Bedtime."
Hoseok curled into his chest.
"Mine…"
All six answered softly.
"Always."
Later That Night
Hoseok slept in the middle of the bed.
Curled up between them.
Jungkook whispered quietly.
"He's getting stronger."
Namjoon nodded.
"But still soft."
Taehyung smiled.
"Best combination."
Yoongi looked toward the window.
"The war's escalating."
Jimin sighed.
"Daejin won't stop."
Jin kissed Hoseok's forehead gently.
"Then we end it."
Namjoon's eyes darkened.
"Soon."
Outside the penthouse—
Far across the city—
Daejin stared at a photo of Hoseok.
Smiling coldly.
"So that's their weakness."
And the war was only just beginning.
