Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 — The City Bleeds for Him

Night in the city was never truly quiet.

From the penthouse windows, thousands of lights glittered across the skyline like scattered stars. Traffic hummed far below, distant sirens echoing occasionally through the concrete jungle.

But inside the BTS penthouse, things were calm.

Too calm.

Soft music floated from the dance studio upstairs, filling the space with a gentle rhythm. Hoseok's bare feet slid across the wooden floor as he practiced.

Spin.

Step.

Turn.

His movements were fluid, graceful, almost weightless.

Dancing was the only place where Hoseok felt completely free.

No mafia politics.

No dangerous enemies.

No overwhelming alpha presence.

Just music.

And movement.

He twirled again, laughing softly to himself when he almost lost balance.

"Oops…"

The mirrors reflected his bright smile.

Downstairs, Jungkook sat in the security room watching dozens of surveillance screens.

His instincts suddenly prickled.

Something felt wrong.

Yoongi noticed immediately.

"What?"

Jungkook leaned closer to one of the screens.

"There."

A black van had stopped across the street.

It had been there for eight minutes.

Not moving.

Not leaving.

Namjoon walked in behind them.

"Report."

Yoongi spoke calmly.

"Suspicious vehicle."

Namjoon's eyes darkened.

"Black Lotus."

Jimin appeared in the doorway.

"You think they'd try something tonight?"

Namjoon didn't answer.

Instead he reached for his phone.

"Everyone on alert."

Upstairs, Hoseok had no idea danger was creeping closer.

He was still dancing.

Still smiling.

Still spinning across the studio floor.

Music filled the room.

His thoughts were light and dreamy.

He'd slipped slightly into little space earlier.

Not fully regressed.

But soft.

Floaty.

Comfortable.

His oversized sweater slipped off one shoulder as he stretched.

"Mmm… good song…"

Outside the penthouse tower…

The van doors opened.

Six armed men stepped out.

Silencers attached.

Weapons ready.

Their leader spoke quietly.

"Target: Jung Hoseok."

Another man nodded.

"Orders?"

"Take him alive if possible."

"And the mafia leaders?"

The leader smirked.

"Kill them if necessary."

Upstairs, Hoseok paused to catch his breath.

His chest rose and fell gently as he walked toward the window.

The city lights were pretty tonight.

He rested his forehead against the glass.

"So sparkly…"

Downstairs, Jungkook's eyes widened.

"MOVE."

Namjoon reacted instantly.

"WHAT?"

"SNIPER."

A gunshot cracked through the night.

The studio window exploded.

Glass shattered everywhere.

Hoseok screamed.

The bullet slammed into the mirror behind him.

The entire penthouse erupted into chaos.

"HOBI!"

Jungkook sprinted for the stairs.

Jimin and Taehyung grabbed weapons.

Yoongi pulled a handgun from the table.

Namjoon barked orders.

"DEFENSIVE POSITIONS!"

Upstairs, Hoseok had fallen to the floor.

Glass shards glittered around him.

His ears rang.

The sudden explosion of sound had shattered his fragile mental state.

Fear swallowed him whole.

"Mama—!"

The word slipped out instinctively.

His mind dropped instantly into deep regression.

He curled into a ball, shaking violently.

Tiny sobs escaped him.

"Koo… Kookie…!"

The studio door burst open.

Jungkook rushed in.

"Hoseok!"

He froze when he saw the broken window.

Then he saw Hoseok on the floor.

Crying.

Terrified.

Something inside Jungkook snapped.

He dropped beside him instantly.

"Hobi!"

Hoseok launched into his arms like a frightened child.

"Koo! Loud! Loud!"

Jungkook held him tightly.

"It's okay. It's okay."

But it wasn't okay.

Another gunshot shattered the wall.

Jungkook's eyes turned deadly.

"They're here."

Namjoon's voice crackled through the comm.

"Multiple intruders entering the building."

Yoongi added calmly:

"Eight targets confirmed."

Jungkook gently lifted Hoseok into his arms.

The dancer clung to him desperately.

Small.

Shaking.

"Koo don't go…"

Jungkook kissed his hair.

"I'm not going anywhere."

Taehyung ran into the studio.

"We need to move him."

Jimin followed behind.

"They breached the lobby."

Namjoon's voice was ice cold.

"Evacuation protocol."

Yoongi added:

"Now."

Jungkook carried Hoseok out of the studio.

The dancer had buried his face in Jungkook's neck.

Soft whimpers escaping him.

"Scary…"

Jimin brushed his fingers through Hoseok's hair.

"It's okay baby."

Taehyung grabbed a rifle from the wall cabinet.

"They picked the wrong house."

Downstairs…

Gunfire erupted.

The intruders had reached the second floor.

Yoongi fired twice.

Two enemies dropped instantly.

Namjoon stood beside him like a war general.

"Positions."

Jin appeared with another weapon.

"I was in the middle of skincare when this started."

Yoongi smirked slightly.

"Tragic."

Footsteps thundered on the stairs.

Yoongi's gun fired again.

Another attacker collapsed.

Upstairs, Jungkook carried Hoseok into the safe room.

The small space was filled with soft lights, blankets, plush toys.

Their emergency refuge.

Jungkook placed him gently on the couch.

Hoseok immediately grabbed his stuffed tiger.

Still crying.

Still small.

"Koo stay…"

Jungkook crouched beside him.

"I will."

But his phone buzzed.

Namjoon.

"Three more entering from the roof."

Jungkook's eyes darkened.

Taehyung stepped forward.

"I'll guard the door."

Jimin sat beside Hoseok.

The dancer immediately crawled into his lap.

"Chim…"

Jimin wrapped him in a blanket.

"It's okay baby."

Hoseok sniffled.

"Scared…"

Jimin kissed his forehead.

"I know."

Outside the safe room…

Gunfire echoed again.

Yoongi's voice came through the comm.

"Roof team neutralized."

Namjoon added:

"One remaining target escaping."

Taehyung's voice turned dangerous.

"Not happening."

He disappeared down the hallway.

Moments later—

Three gunshots rang out.

Silence followed.

Then Taehyung spoke calmly.

"Target eliminated."

Back in the safe room…

The adrenaline slowly faded.

Jungkook returned and closed the door.

Hoseok was curled against Jimin and Jin now.

Still trembling.

Still deep in little space.

Namjoon entered last.

His expression softened immediately when he saw Hoseok.

"Hey sunshine…"

Hoseok peeked up at him with teary eyes.

"Joonie…"

Namjoon knelt beside him.

"You're safe."

Hoseok reached out with tiny hands.

Namjoon gently took them.

The dancer sniffled again.

"Bad guys?"

Namjoon nodded slowly.

"But they're gone now."

Yoongi leaned against the wall.

"All of them."

Taehyung sat on the floor beside Hoseok.

The dancer instantly leaned against him.

Seeking comfort.

The six mafia leaders watched their fragile sunshine carefully.

He had been their weakness tonight.

But also their reason to fight.

Jungkook brushed Hoseok's hair gently.

"No one will ever touch you."

Hoseok whispered sleepily.

"Promise?"

Six voices answered at once.

"We promise."

Outside the penthouse, the city continued moving.

Unaware that a small war had just happened in one of its tallest buildings.

Inside…

Hoseok finally relaxed.

Curled in a pile of six dangerous men.

Protected.

Loved.

Safe.

For now.
