{Third Person}
Alexander was silent for a few seconds as he considered how to explain it.
"It is difficult to describe. I can feel that you are here even when I am not looking at you. I can sense your emotions more clearly than before."
"Can you hear my thoughts?"
"No."
Amara relaxed. "Good."
His eyebrow lifted. "You don't sound disappointed."
"I am relieved. I would never have another private thought again."
"You would still have them. I simply would not know what they were."
"That is exactly what I meant."
A small smile crossed his face.
Amara watched him carefully, trying to understand the strange connection between them.
She could sense his presence in a way she had never experienced before, but it did not feel intrusive.
It was more like an awareness at the edge of her own emotions, something she could notice when she deliberately paid attention.
Then she felt his amusement.
She turned to him and said, "You are amused."
"I am."
"I felt it." She giggled.
