The arena was silent.
Broken stone covered the ground where the Chaos beast had fought.
Kael stared at the spot where the portal had disappeared.
"I didn't mean to send it somewhere random," he said.
Nyra walked slowly toward the center of the arena.
Her expression was serious.
"That wasn't random."
Kael looked confused.
"What do you mean?"
Before Nyra could answer, the doors of the arena burst open.
Several Shadow guards rushed inside.
Behind them, one of the members of the Shadow Council entered the arena.
His dark cloak moved like smoke around him.
"We felt the disturbance," the council member said.
His glowing eyes looked directly at Kael.
"You opened a forbidden gate."
Kael frowned.
"I was trying to stop the monster."
The council member raised his hand.
A glowing map of the realms appeared again in the air.
Seven worlds floated in the darkness.
But one of them looked different.
A dark realm surrounded by violent storms of energy.
"The Void Realm," the council member said.
Nyra's eyes widened.
"You're saying the portal led there?"
The council member nodded slowly.
"The Void Realm is the most dangerous place in existence."
Kael crossed his arms.
"So… the monster is someone else's problem now."
The council member shook his head.
"You misunderstand."
His voice grew darker.
"Nothing that enters the Void Realm ever truly disappears."
The map suddenly flickered.
A pulse of dark energy spread across it.
The council member looked back at Kael.
"Something has awakened."
