Chapter 51 - 51. Between Denial and Desire

After a long day of exploring the Hibashiren Village, the trio followed Ghesso, who found a comfortable inn for them to rest. The village was a lively place, known for its raging fire culture, where houses were built with flame-resistant wood and adorned with torches that burned brightly even in the night. The streets were bustling with traders selling exotic spices, enchanted weapons, and fabrics woven with fire-resistant silk. The people of the village were strong, wearing traditional crimson and black robes, representing the fierce and unyielding spirit of Hibashiren.

The inn itself was beautifully decorated, with golden lanterns hanging from the ceiling, casting a warm, soft glow. The walls were painted with images of ancient warriors who had once defended the village, and the wooden flooring was polished to perfection. The air carried a faint scent of sandalwood and burning embers, adding to the mystique of the place.

Seinna, being the wealthiest among them, casually paid for two months' rent, ensuring they had a stable base for their stay. The innkeeper, a middle-aged woman with sharp eyes, was more than happy to accept the generous payment, giving them one of the best rooms available.

Once inside, Seinna wasted no time setting up her advanced workstation. She placed her small compact device on the table, and within seconds, it expanded into a sleek holographic panel, displaying multiple screens with real-time data and encrypted messages. The dual monitors floated above the desk, pulsating with blue light, showing that Seinna was not just any ordinary woman—she was a highly skilled researcher with access to advanced technology.

Jasper observed her with curiosity, but Ghesso leaned in toward him, whispering,

"You should spend a night with her, boy. She looks damn sexy."

Jasper's face turned red immediately. His mind was already struggling to resist Seinna's seductive aura, and now this old man was planting even more thoughts in his head. He clenched his fists, trying to control his imagination, but his perverted thoughts were beginning to win.

Meanwhile, Ryuji was completely uninterested in their conversation. He turned to Ghesso and said,

"Okay, old man, tomorrow we'll work on a new ninjutsu technique, right?"

Ghesso smirked, waving his hand dismissively.

"You little brat, I only taught you chakra control; don't get ahead of yourself."

Ryuji scoffed, crossing his arms.

"What? I already know chakra control! What's the point of coming with you?"

Ignoring Ryuji's complaints, Ghesso turned to Seinna, grinning mischievously.

"Oh, young charming princess, there's food in my bag. You all eat and then sleep—I'm going to do some research."

Seinna smiled, intrigued.

"I might help you with your research."

For the first time, Ghesso's face turned slightly red, and he quickly shook his head.

"This is a very tough research, young lady. Only my kind of people can do it."

And with that, he vanished into the night, leaving the group alone in the room.

Seinna watched where Ghesso had disappeared, still impressed by his intelligence.

"He knows so much… He seems far more intelligent than I thought."

Jasper leaned against the wall, chuckling.

"Don't think he's in his mid-20s. That old man is damn immortal—more than 3,200 years old."

Seinna's eyes widened in shock.

"Wait… 3,200 years?! I thought he was just a sage, maybe 50 years old!"

Ryuji scoffed, shaking his head.

"Nope, that perverted old man is more ancient than you can imagine."

Seinna turned to Ryuji, her expression serious.

"Don't insult him by calling him a pervert again and again."

Ryuji shrugged.

"You don't know what I know… but okay."

They all sighed, deciding to put out mattresses for the night.

Jasper and Seinna's Late-Night Tension

As they settled in, Jasper glanced at Seinna, hesitating before asking,

"Hey… I want to ask you something."

Seinna turned toward him, smirking.

"Oh? What is it?"

Jasper's face turned red as he looked away, struggling to form his words.

"I mean… You wear a kimono, but it's like… it looks like you're wearing nothing under it… The detailing of your body is so clear… You know.....what I mean?"

Seinna's eyes gleamed with mischief as she stepped closer, her voice low and seductive.

"Oh? So you noticed? Yes, you're right… I'm only wearing a kimono. And if I were to pull it off…"

She traced her fingers along the edge of her kimono, slightly loosening it enough to expose her smooth shoulders and a hint of her chest.

Jasper stumbled backward, his heart pounding rapidly. His mind was screaming at him to look away, but his eyes were locked onto her exposed skin. His face burned with deep red, and he struggled to breathe properly.

"H-Hey! Don't come closer!" he stammered, waving his hands in panic.

"I know what you're trying to do! You're making bold moves just to make me fall for you!"

Seinna laughed softly, her voice smooth like silk.

"Oh, come on, Jasper. You like bold women, don't you? But you're such an idiot sometimes."

She leaned even closer, whispering in his ear,

"I am wearing inner garments, of course. What do you think? But I do love it when you get flustered like this."

Jasper exhaled deeply, feeling both relief and frustration. She was toying with him, testing his patience and self-control. But damn, she was beautiful. He hated to admit it, but he was starting to develop emotions for her.

However, he refused to show it. He clenched his fists, forcing his face to remain neutral, and muttered under his breath,

"I won't lose… I won't fall for you so easily, Seinna."

Seinna just smirked, crossing her arms, completely confident in her ability to make Jasper break first.

As the night deepened, tension lingered in the air between them, silent yet undeniable.

The night had settled deep into Hibashiren Village, and the golden lanterns inside the inn flickered gently, casting warm shadows across the wooden dining table. Outside, the sound of distant laughter and crackling torches blended into the night air, but inside their private dining area, a different kind of energy filled the space—one thick with tension, amusement, and mischief.

Ghesso had yet to return from his so-called "research," and the trio—Jasper, Seinna, and Ryuji—sat together for dinner. The meal was a luxurious spread, thanks to the innkeeper's gratitude for Seinna's generous payment. Steamed rice, grilled meat glazed in honey and spices, sautéed vegetables, and a thick, aromatic stew filled the table. The scent alone was enough to make Ryuji's mouth water as he eagerly grabbed his chopsticks.

Jasper, however, was having a much harder time enjoying his food.

Not because it lacked flavor—no, the meal was exquisite. But because Seinna refused to leave him alone.

Seated directly across from him, she rested her chin on one hand, her eyes gleaming with amusement as she slowly chewed her food. The dim candlelight reflected in her silver irises, making her look even more alluring. But it wasn't just the way she looked. It was her words.

And worse—her tone.

Every sentence dripped with sultry playfulness, every glance was an unspoken challenge, and every movement, no matter how small, seemed deliberately provocative.

"You know, Jasper," Seinna murmured, twirling a piece of meat between her chopsticks before placing it between her lips. She sucked on it briefly, letting her tongue flick against it before biting down. "I was thinking about what you said earlier… about my kimono."

Jasper had just taken a sip of water, and he nearly choked.

Coughing into his fist, he avoided her gaze. "I-I didn't say anything weird! I just—"

Seinna giggled, leaning forward slightly, allowing her loose kimono to shift just enough to reveal more of her collarbone, the soft curve of her chest barely concealed by the fabric.

"Oh, but you did," she purred, her voice like silk. "You were practically studying my body with those eyes of yours. I wonder… are you that curious about what's underneath?"

Jasper's entire body tensed. His chopsticks trembled slightly in his grip, and his face burned crimson.

"Wha—?! I wasn't—!"

Before he could finish his denial, Seinna reached across the table with her own chopsticks, plucking a piece of meat from Jasper's plate. But instead of eating it, she lifted it towards his lips, her smirk widening.

"Come on," she whispered. "Let me feed you."

Jasper froze.

The piece of meat hovered just inches from his mouth, Seinna's delicate fingers holding the chopsticks with effortless grace. She leaned in slightly, her perfume—a blend of jasmine and something subtly spicy—enveloping his senses.

His brain screamed at him to refuse. To push her hand away.

But his body? His body was betraying him.

His lips parted instinctively, and before he even realized what he was doing, Seinna gently placed the food into his mouth.

"Good boy," she murmured, her voice laced with satisfaction.

Jasper almost died on the spot.

Across the table, Ryuji was having the time of his life.

Mouth stuffed with rice, he chewed slowly, watching their interaction with barely concealed glee. His sharp eyes darted between Jasper's flustered, panic-stricken expression and Seinna's smug, knowing smirk.

After swallowing his food, he let out a snort. "Damn, Jasper, you're seriously hopeless. How are you letting her dominate you like this?"

Jasper slammed his hands on the table.

"I—I'm NOT being dominated!" he snapped, his voice cracking.

Seinna simply chuckled, bringing her cup of tea to her lips.

"Oh, sweetheart… denial doesn't suit you."

Jasper groaned, gripping his hair. "I swear, I'm gonna lose my mind at this rate."

Ryuji leaned back, placing his arms behind his head.

"Well, if you ever do, just make sure to let me watch. This is the best dinner entertainment I've had in years."

Jasper glared.

As the meal continued, so did Seinna's merciless teasing.

She took slow, deliberate bites of her food, licking stray sauce off her lips in ways that made Jasper's heartbeat go insane. She made little noises of pleasure after tasting something particularly good, sighing softly, her voice just a little too sultry for a normal dinner setting.

At one point, she even stretched, raising her arms above her head, which caused her kimono to shift dangerously, exposing even more of her smooth skin.

"Oops," she murmured, looking down at her slightly open robe before smirking at Jasper. "Oh dear, did that make you nervous?"

Jasper stabbed his chopsticks into his food with unnecessary force.

"Eat your damn food and stop messing with me!" he grumbled.

Seinna grinned.

"Oh, but it's so fun watching you squirm."

Jasper clenched his fists. He could feel the temperature rising—not just in the room, but in his entire body.

She was playing a dangerous game.

And worst of all?

She was winning.

By the time dinner ended, Jasper was physically and mentally exhausted.

His stomach was full, but his mind was in complete turmoil. Seinna had tormented him nonstop, and he was reaching his limit.

As they pushed their chairs back, Seinna walked over to him, stopping just inches away. She tilted her head, her long silver hair cascading over her shoulder.

"You're fun to tease," she murmured. "But I wonder… when will you finally stop resisting and just give in?"

Jasper's jaw tightened.

"Never."

Seinna smirked, stepping even closer, so close that their bodies nearly touched. She leaned in, whispering directly into his ear, her breath warm against his skin.

"We'll see about that."

And with that, she turned and walked away, her hips swaying ever so slightly.

Jasper collapsed onto his seat, gripping his chest.

"I'm doomed."

Ryuji, standing beside him, clapped a hand on his shoulder.

"Yup. You definitely are."
