Long Cheng admitted he felt nervous. Ophis was his favorite character in High School DxD.
"My name is Long Cheng. Those auras come from my Sacred Gear."
He revealed the Boosted Gear.
Ophis responded softly:
"I desire eternal silence. Can you return me to the Dimensional Gap? If you agree, I will give you 'Snake.'"
Long Cheng pondered.
"Ophis, I can't go to your world yet. I'm not strong enough to defeat the True Red Dragon God Emperor. And I believe true strength must be cultivated by oneself.
But… if you trust me, you can stay with me. If you want… I'm willing to become your family."
The moment he finished speaking, his face turned red.
Ophis was quiet and pure. Being near her gave him a sense of calm he deeply cherished.
After a pause, Ophis replied:
"…You carry an aura like mine. I like it. Long Cheng is my family."
Long Cheng felt overjoyed.
"I promise—we'll have a home of our own."
He then asked the system about the Plane Card.
After use, that plane would remain permanently unlocked. If he left, he could return at any chosen time point after departure for 1000 points.
There were two travel methods:
Direct entry.
Rebirth entry (reincarnating as an infant with background customization).
He naturally chose rebirth. In Douluo Dalu, martial spirits awaken at age six. Entering as his current twenty-year-old self would be disadvantageous.
He set his background: discovered by Tang Hao while carrying infant Tang San to Holy Soul Village, adopted and named Long Cheng based on a jade pendant engraved with "龙" and "诚."
Ophis would appear in the Star Dou Forest as Xiao Wu's companion, transforming into human form with her.
Douluo Dalu 1 was relatively safe among multiverse settings.
Why follow the protagonist? Long Cheng didn't consider himself some overpowered destiny-breaker. Joining Spirit Hall would mean siding with Bibi Dong's destructive ambitions. He wasn't suited to be a villainous final boss. Staying low-profile suited him better.
After finalizing everything, he told Ophis:
"We're going to a world called Douluo Dalu. You'll go to the Star Dou Forest and stay with a girl named Xiao Wu. Six years later, go to Nuoding Academy. We'll reunite there."
"I understand, Long Cheng."
He stepped forward and hugged her.
"Take care of yourself. I'm too weak to protect you now. But next time we meet… we won't be separated again."
"I believe you."
He took one last look at her, as if engraving her image into memory, then used the Douluo Plane Card.

Some readers felt the emotional development was too fast. At first, Long Cheng simply liked Ophis. Ophis approached him because he carried a similar aura. The deeper development happens over six years.
Regarding power scaling: Douluo currently has no planet-destroying combatants. In High School DxD, the protagonist already reaches that tier—even before his strongest state.
