Chapter 7 - A Night Under His Rule

After lectures, Emily hurried home, exhaustion clinging to her like a shadow. She cooked quickly, carefully packing food for her sister before rushing back to the hospital. Her heart pounded the entire way.

When the doctor finally smiled and announced the surgery was a success, relief washed over her so strongly that her knees almost gave way.

"Thank you… thank you so much," she whispered, tears shining in her eyes.

The remaining bill still hung over her, but she held onto hope. The $100,000 but it was a start. She promised the doctor the balance would be completed soon.

Just as she prepared to arrange the payment, her phone rang.

Damon.

Her breath caught.

"Hello…" she answered quietly, stepping away from the ward.

His voice came low and calm through the phone. "I keep my word, Emily. It's time you keep yours."

Her fingers tightened around the phone. She glanced at her sleeping sister, machines humming softly beside the bed. The medicine, the bills, the future — everything depended on this.

"I'll come," she said.

She told Catherine she had a job interview and left quickly, skipping lectures and calling the school to report sickness. Guilt followed her, but necessity pushed her forward.

The mansion stood like something from another world.

Tall gates. Perfect gardens. Lights glowing warmly against polished walls.

Emily froze at the entrance, her jaw dropping at the sheer beauty of the place. Inside, servants welcomed her respectfully, offering drinks and cookies.

"You are the important guest Sir Damon spoke about," one of them said politely.

Emily shook her head nervously. "No… I'm just—"

Her words stopped as Damon entered.

He wore a golden robe, confidence radiating from every step he took. The room seemed to shift around him.

"You've arrived," he said simply.

Dinner was already prepared — elegant dishes she had only seen in movies. He watched her eat, occasionally asking small questions about her sister, her studies, her life. The conversation felt strangely normal despite everything binding them together.

After dinner, he stood and extended his hand.

"Come."

Her heartbeat quickened as she followed him upstairs.

Inside the room, silence wrapped around them. She hesitated near the door until he gently closed it behind them.

"You look nervous," he murmured.

"I am," she admitted.

His expression softened slightly. "I told you before… I'll be careful."

He drew closer, his touch slower this time, deliberate and controlled. The intensity between them was undeniable — not rushed, not harsh, but heavy with emotion and unspoken need. Emily felt herself relax despite her racing thoughts, caught between fear and an unfamiliar sense of belonging.

For the first time, he seemed less like a powerful stranger and more like a man trying to hold onto something fragile.

Downstairs, the staff whispered in surprise.

"This is the first time Sir Damon has brought a lady home," one said quietly. "Our workaholic boss has changed."

Later that evening, Emily's phone vibrated.

Transfer received: $200,000.

Her eyes widened.

Damon watched her reaction, a faint smirk appearing. "You did well," he said. "Consider it… encouragement."

She looked up at him, unsure whether to feel grateful or trapped.

Their agreement suddenly felt heavier than before — no longer just about money, but about control, trust, and a dangerous closeness neither of them fully understood.

Outside, the night deepened around the mansion, silent witness to a bond growing darker… and stronger.
