Synopsis
This story was written on pure impulse. At the time of publishing this chapter, I already have four extra chapters written but not yet polished. For now, I will only upload this first chapter to see how people respond. If I see that you like it, I will continue publishing the remaining chapters. One thing I want to clarify is that I’m planning to change the Falna. In fact, in the last chapter I wrote, I already introduced the new Falna.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Peculiar God (1)

Orario / End of the Dark Age

A year had passed since the last great attack of Evilus, and the familias of order finally managed to wipe out the remnants of Evilus.

On this day in mid-November, a grand celebration was held throughout the entire city. Civilians, adventurers, and gods alike were all celebrating the end of Evilus.

But what made this day even more special was the arrival of new gods to the city.

Before that day, the gods had stopped descending out of fear of being killed by Evilus—not because they were afraid, but because for them, dying in the Lower World would simply cause them to ascend back to the heavens.

The true fear of the gods was losing the opportunity to enjoy the Lower World. Any god who died and ascended to the heavens lost all possibility of descending again for the next millennia.

That was something no god who wished to descend wanted to experience.

But now that Evilus had been destroyed, the gods returned, and this day of celebration was designated as the day of the year when the gods would descend from the heavens.

At that moment, pillars of golden light descended from the sky in front of Babel Tower. A large part of the population had gathered in the surrounding area, waiting for their arrival, and the moment they saw them, they cheered loudly.

With such a warm welcome, the new gods were excited to explore this new world, unaware of how truly difficult it was to form a familia and survive in Orario—a city that swallowed the weak.

As for the gods who had just descended, they either left with their godly friends or went off alone. Suddenly, to everyone's surprise, a new pillar of light appeared before them.

This sudden occurrence caught the attention of everyone present, especially the gods. It was the first time a god had been delayed in descending; until now, all gods had descended in groups, never separately.

As they waited for the pillar of light to fade so they could see the new god, something caught everyone's attention—the once-golden pillar suddenly began to change color.

With each passing second, the pillar turned an intense red. This was a complete surprise to everyone, especially the gods. None of them knew it was possible to change the color of the pillars of light created when descending from heaven.

Some gods felt disappointed, thinking they could have had a much more striking entrance, but there was nothing they could do about it now. If they had known something like this was possible, their entrances into the Lower World could have been far cooler than the simple and repetitive ones they all had.

In contrast to these vain gods, a small group of more intelligent deities understood that this was impossible. After all, divine power was golden for all gods. The pillars of light that appeared when a god descended were not for the sake of making a grand entrance.

These pillars signified that, while in this plane, they accepted sealing almost all of their divine power.

This was an oath that all who descended had to make. It did not mean that gods could not break this rule, but doing so could provoke the wrath of Ouranos, which would result in exile from the Lower World and a ban from ever descending again.

Not to mention that Ouranos himself would go after them to force them to return, and unless a god hid inside the Dungeon, there was nowhere to escape Ouranos' gaze.

At that moment, the pillar began to fade, and a young man appeared—one whom none of the gods recognized. That alone captured all of their curiosity.

A god no one knew could only mean one thing: he belonged to an isolated pantheon. Such pantheons were very few and could be counted on one hand.

But by this point, most of those pantheons were no longer so isolated and, in fact, already had several gods in the Lower World. There was only one pantheon that remained isolated.

Not even gods like Ouranos, who held near-absolute power in the heavens and could access other pantheons even if they were isolated—

All except one. This pantheon had been named Bloodborne. No one knew where the name came from, but the gods found it curious and amusing in their own way. They kept the name and created all kinds of extravagant stories about it.

But at last, someone from that mysterious place had descended, and the gods were utterly excited. They wanted to learn all the secrets it hid—and above all, they were very interested in the man who had chosen to descend.

Like the vast majority of gods, this man was truly attractive, despite how little of his face could be seen. But above all, he was striking because of his clothing.

He wore a tight leather outfit that revealed none of his skin except for his ears and half of his face. He wore a mask that covered his face up to his nose and had a strange pointed hat that would have shadowed his entire face if not for the many lights in the plaza.

The clothing was unusual, but in its own way, it looked elegant and cool.

The only defining traits visible were his eyes, similar to those of a beastman, with slit pupils and a sinister gray iris.

His hair—or the few strands that could be seen—was silver in color.

At first glance, one could say the god's domain was related to combat. Any level two or higher adventurer present could tell that the god emitted an oppressive aura that made their legs tremble.

This did not mean the god was hostile; it was simply part of his aura, similar to the goddesses of beauty with their charm ability.

Before any god could approach him, the man gave an elegant bow in greeting while removing his hat.

Moments later, he simply disappeared before everyone's eyes, while a faint mist dissipated where he had been standing just moments before.

This took all the gods and adventurers by surprise. No one could understand what had happened. The gods knew it was not the work of divine power—after all, no one was insane enough to break that rule in the city that Ouranos himself closely watched.

For the adventurers, this was a complete shock. Until now, no god possessed such speed that even level three and four adventurers could not follow.

Those with magical abilities believed the god had cast a spell to turn invisible.

In the end, no one could explain what had happened, but the mystery of this new god captured the attention of everyone in the city.

At the top of Babel Tower stood the goddess of the strongest familia.

She was watching the place where the new god who had caught everyone's attention had been.

"It seems someone interesting has just descended…" A soft blush adorned the goddess' cheeks. At her side stood a tall and muscular Boazman.

They were none other than Freya, the goddess of beauty, and Ottar, the current strongest adventurer in Orario.

"Shall I bring that god to you, my goddess?" The question pulled Freya from her daze, and with an amused look, she scanned the city.

"There's no need, Ottar. I want to see how he handles himself in the city." As she spoke, her gaze finally captured that god's soul.

"If he cannot manage well on his own, then he would not be worth it." At that moment, Freya's body trembled slightly.

/Gasp/

It was not from fear, but from pure excitement.

/Gasp/

Something that had never happened in her many years in the mortal world was happening now.

The god she had her eye on had actually felt her gaze—and was returning it at that very moment.

"He truly deserves my attention… Ah…" A soft gasp echoed through the room as the goddess' hand slid down over her flat abdomen.

"This is fate… Mmm… That soul, being able to see me… Ihk…" Between gasps and soft moans, the goddess continued staring at the god, with only one thought in her mind.

'You are my Odr, aren't you? I've finally found you!'

At the entrance of the Guild, the aforementioned Odr could be seen looking at the top of Babel Tower.

"Even now she's still watching me… I wonder who she is…"

Without further delay, he entered the Guild, wanting to finish everything quickly.
