The wine was nearly finished when the space between them finally shrank to nothing.
Jay set his glass on the low wall and turned fully into Roman, sliding both hands up the front of his shirt. The city hummed below them, distant traffic and faint sirens threading through the slow music still playing from the speaker. The string lights cast a warm, golden glow over Jay's face, softening the sharp lines of his cheekbones and the faint scar that still lingered near his jaw from everything that had happened.
Roman's hand came up automatically, cupping the back of Jay's neck with a gentleness that felt new between them. "Here?" he asked, voice low and rough. "You sure? It's not exactly comfortable."
Jay nodded, eyes already dark with want. "No one's going to come up. And I don't want to go inside yet. I want this us right here, under the lights." His fingers curled into Roman's shirt, tugging him closer. "Please."
