Chapter 306 - Chapter 306 : Morgana

During the long years of hostility and war between Sera, the Knight King, and the Mother Witch Morgana, not every confrontation was merely a traditional military battle. It was an all-out war on every level, with each of them constantly trying to find a weakness in the other and discover vulnerabilities that could be exploited.

With all her vast magical knowledge and her enormous collection of ancient evil spells, Morgana experimented with countless different methods against the Knight King. She would cast deadly curses that carved their way into both body and soul, other spells that paralyzed her movements, a third kind that blinded her, a fourth that transformed her energy into poison that burned her from within, and a fifth that planted illusions inside her mind, making her see her enemies as friends.

Unfortunately, none of these methods worked against the Knight King, because the strength that came from somewhere deeper within her, combined with her unyielding will, allowed her to emerge stronger every time, as though pain refined her instead of breaking her. This infuriated Morgana, who desired revenge for her husband beyond anything that could be described, forcing her to return to her laboratory broken and frustrated, reconsidering everything and thinking of new and more vicious methods.

And so, after all those conventional attempts had failed, a new idea came to Morgana's mind: the Blood Curse she had inherited from the legacy of an ancient witch who had lived in a distant age and become famous for her ability to destroy entire kingdoms using the blood of kings.

The curse was based on a simple but deadly concept: blood carried the essence of a person, and anything connected to it could affect that person as well. Therefore, she first needed to collect the Knight King's own blood, something that was almost impossible under normal circumstances because Sera was extremely cautious.

But Morgana was patient, and she knew that the right opportunity would eventually come, especially after she had thought of another part of her plan: giving birth to a child of Sera who would become the primary victim of this deadly curse. The blood he carried would be an extension of Sera's blood, and any harm inflicted upon him would be transmitted to her through their blood connection. In this way, Morgana would finally be able to accomplish what all her other spells and curses had failed to do.

Therefore, after a period of planning and waiting, the opportunity she had been waiting for finally came when she launched a massive attack against the Kingdom of the Lake in alliance with the white dragon Albion. In the middle of that battle, while the Knight King was occupied fighting the white dragon, Morgana cleverly seized the opportunity and collected a few drops of her blood before disappearing without Sera noticing her, retreating to her laboratory with a precious jewel in her hand.

However, when Morgana attempted to use this blood to create an embryo through alchemy, she failed. The blood seemed to reject every attempt to shape it, as though some hidden force prevented it from merging with any foreign substance. Despite putting forth every effort and using the oldest spells and the most powerful magical alchemical materials, the Knight King's blood seemed sealed, as though conceptual forces were protecting it from any interference. This left her frustrated once again, as though every path she took ultimately ended at a locked door.

Therefore, after spending some time searching for another method, she came up with an ingenious idea. Instead of using the blood directly, she would use some of the Knight King's power that she had previously collected, which carried her spiritual imprint, and then merge that power with the drops of blood she had gathered. She used this strange mixture to create an embryo through alchemy.

Although the resulting embryo did not possess exactly the same blood as the Knight King, it at least carried the same essence of her power, and that was enough to establish a strong bond between him and Sera. Thus, after successfully creating the embryo, Morgana carried it within her and gave birth to him nine months later, naming him Mordred.

During the following years, Morgana carefully raised the child as a weapon designed for a single purpose: carrying out the Blood Curse. She fed him hatred toward the Knight King and planted the belief in his mind that his father had abandoned him, and that he had no value unless he avenged himself against him. She then assigned him a specific mission: to join Sera's army as a mysterious knight while keeping his face hidden beneath his helmet, claiming that he wished to avoid embarrassment because of scars on his face. She also provided him with spells that helped conceal his identity and made his features appear distorted to anyone looking at him.

But as time passed, something happened that Morgana had never expected. The child she had created with her own hands and carried within her womb began to be influenced by his father. Being close to him and watching him fight for his people began planting doubt within him, followed by admiration, then love, and finally genuine loyalty. He began betraying Morgana in his heart before ever betraying her through his actions, and secretly gave his loyalty to the Knight King. He was planning to reveal the truth to him, ask for his forgiveness, and live as an honorable knight by his side.

However, Morgana had been watching him from afar and knew what was happening inside his mind. She felt that the tool she had created was beginning to slip through her fingers. Therefore, she used a powerful spell that she had implanted within him since his birth, activating the dark side he had inherited from her nature as an evil witch. She reignited the flames of anger and hatred within him, intending to make him fall into the abyss and commit the sin. At that moment, she would seize the opportunity to complete the Blood Curse ritual with a fatal strike, because she knew that killing Mordred, who carried the same essence of the Knight King's power, would kill the Knight King as well.

And the opportunity she had been waiting for finally arrived when Mordred, after his dark side completely took control of him, betrayed the king and slaughtered everyone in the kingdom while the king was away training in the wilderness. In his absence, the city was transformed into hell, and rivers of blood flowed through its streets. Morgana's dream had finally come true.

Because the moment she had been waiting for was now extremely close, and all that remained was to drive the black dagger into Mordred's heart, bringing down the Knight King and ending the saga that had continued between them for so many long years.
