Sitting at the dining table with Justinian and Julius, Isis continuously peeked towards the man, wondering when he would leave and give her a chance to use the vial of poison, yet he never did. It had been four days since the revolution started, and although the area of the city they were in had yet to be touched by the crowds, she could hear in the distance the echoes of people's cries and shouts, along with the occasional explosion of a crumbling building.
It was strange. She had expected to hear fighting every night, but never did. Poking at her plate, a stampede of footsteps echoed down the hall, making her and Julius pause. Only Justinian continued to eat as if nothing was happening.
"HE IS EAT-!" One of the guards outside began to shout, cut off by a heavy thump as the doors flew open. Stepping in, Augustus saw the heads of numerous soldiers, all wearing the uniform of the Pantheon soldiers.
