Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Infinity Emperor System

As I took in my surroundings, I could only stare in stunned silence...

I'd thought maybe I'd been transmigrated into someone else's body, or even reincarnated entirely—but no. No, no, no.

I was still in my own body, but in what had to be another world. So does that mean I was summoned?

"No! No, what the hell! If I was gonna be taken somewhere like this, at least put me in a better body than this!"

I muttered, looking down at my frail frame—no surprise it was so thin when all I'd been eating every single day was ramen and eggs.

Looking around, I realized I was in what looked like a school... but it was far too massive for any normal campus.

Wait—a giant school... floating in the sky?

I peered out the window below and spotted students in black-and-white uniforms moving through the grounds.

"Oh shit! Shit! Did I really just get summoned to Great Moon? No way—there's no way I ended up inside the game!"

I slumped forward like I'd just given up on everything. Who could blame me? Great Moon: Apex of Disorder wasn't just some ordinary academy-and-tower game—it was pure madness.

By the second arc alone, 50% of the academy's students would be dead. Not from the tower challenges, but from the endless string of disasters the main character seemed to attract. It was thrilling to play on a screen, but in real life? No way. No way in hell.

And the headmaster wouldn't lift a finger even if the entire student body was being wiped out.

"Shit! Shit!"

Right—if I was stuck here, I had to have a system.

"System! You're there, right? Please tell me you're there!" I practically begged, my voice tight with desperation. If there was no system to help me, I'd grab whatever I could and run as far away as possible—even if it meant dying in the fourth arc instead of the second. Anything was better than facing what was coming next.

[Hello, host.]

"Yes! Yes! A system!" I practically jumped in relief.

[Don't be so eager, host. Shouldn't you first ask what kind of system I am?]

Right... what kind of system?

There were so many types out there: overpowered ones, information-based ones, irritable ones, leech-like ones—and plenty more that were just plain trash.

"Tell me you're at least a leveling system?"

[No, host—I'm better than that.]

"A daily reward system?"

[No.]

"A summoning system?"

[No.]

"A gacha system?" That was the second-best option, if you had decent luck.

[No.]

"Don't tell me... are you one of those overpowered systems that makes their host stronger just by sitting around?"

[Well... no? But I suppose you could call it better?]

"Then what are you?" A system better than just handing out powers directly? What kind of setup was that?

[Don't be surprised, host—I'm... I'm...]

"Just say it already, for fuck's sake!"

[I don't want to.]

"Huh?"

[But I'll give you this first.]

As the system spoke, a dice suddenly materialized and fell into my palm.

"What's this?" I was already fuming—summoned to a death trap of a world, and now my system was being deliberately annoying. What could possibly be worse?

[Roll it.]

"Fine!"

I tossed it down hard. "Oh sweet—a six!"

[Wow... your luck really is incredible, host.]

"So what now—" I started to ask, but the dice began to glow and shift shape, until it had transformed into an exact copy of me.

"Huh? That's... me???"

"System! What is this?" I reached out and touched my doppelgänger, but it stood perfectly still, not moving an inch.

[That is you—if you consume it, your body will undergo evolution. Your weak physique will be completely transformed, and since you rolled the highest number possible, the changes will be enormous.]

"Wow... wow, that's actually pretty cool! Wait—are you a dice system, then?" It sounded kind of awesome, but another luck-based setup? Would my good luck hold out? Hard to imagine... ugh.

[Correct, host. Let me properly introduce myself... I am the "Infinity Emperor Dice System"—or you can just call me the "Infinity Emperor System."]

"Ughhh... that name's kinda cringe, you know?"
