Chapter 1 - Journey To Dunefree - Chapter 1

Leaflook City – The Empire of Dreamer

-

Inside of a small house, a young man is sitting alone, looking at the note.

It was from his mother; back twenty years ago, it could be said that it was some sort of an heirloom.

"So."

"It's been a long time."

"You have left mother," he said as he looked at the note and then took a deep breath.

"I do not need to care about the past."

"I should be only looking at the future."

Ironel, a young man in his early twenties, lived alone in Leaflook City after his mom died for a long time.

His only capability was being able to read "Language – Mindfree or Bodyfree," due to his mother, and this language was useful in academic capabilities as well as many other translational times.

He lived as a simple translator and sometimes helped researchers in the city.

"Now that I have some silver credit on my name, I should go to the city of Dunedfree to learn about the supernatural arts."

"I would like to know why Mom was abandoned..." he said to himself.

Ironel asked his mother when he was young, but he never got an answer from her.

This always made him feel bad and kept him guessing.

"The only way to learn about my mother and her background is to become a Supernatural Art User."

Ironel said to himself.

With this, he left his home, taking his key. As he was leaving for the street, a middle-aged, kind-looking man saw him and spoke.

"Ironel," he said.

Ironel looked at the middle-aged man and smiled.

"Mister Falcos."

Falcos smiled at him back and then spoke.

"So, you are leaving?"

Ironel nodded.

"Yes."

"It is time for me to leave to go to Dunedfree."

Falco thought for a moment and then spoke.

"I have known you for a long time, Ironel."

"I know that I have no ability to change your mind."

"I just want you to be safe on the road, and please do not think that you are spending much of your money; spend it as long as you need to be safe."

"The Wild is filled with Darkbeasts and Mysteryfolk; I do not want something bad to happen to you."

Ironel nodded, and his eyes dropped down for a moment.

"You are always thinking about me, Falco."

Falco smiled.

"I knew your mom when she was just a young woman, and she arrived here when you were a baby."

"I can only hope that you become a supernatural art user or a supernatural body master."

Ironel nodded again.

"I should get going, and thank you for your good wish."

With these words, Ironel kept on walking on the street and then hired a taxi and paid for it to go to Flymech Port – Third Port."

As Ironel was on the taxi and looking at the familiar street, he thought about many things.

"Supernatural Art User or Supernatural Body Master."

"These two were simple ways of using natural energies to affect reality, something like mages."

"While art users used more mystic and knowledge interaction with reality, body masters were warriors of the old times; they used natural energy, 'energy of existence,' to enhance their bodies."

While Ironel thought about these things, he also nodded.

"If not for the Supernatural Art Users and Body Masters, "Darkbeasts" and "Mysteryfolk" would destroy the human race to extinction."

"Darkbeasts were beasts that were inherently evil and mindless but powerful due to their interaction with the natural energy and Mysteryfolk; as the name suggests, mystery on itself, they were gray-skinned, tall humanoid creatures and preferred to eat human meat due to mysterious reasons."

"They were also powerful supernatural art users and body masters; they were evil against humans to the core."

The time passed quickly.

Ironel left the taxi and paid ten silver notes to it.

The real name of the currency was the Silverleaf Credit, but the common use of it was the Silver Notes.

Without much thought, Ironel passed the entry and then took the Flymech that goes to the Dunedfree and then sat down on his seat.

While he sat down, a young man came to the chair and then asked.

"This is seat 33, right?"

Ironel nodded.

"Yeah, I am 34."

The young man nodded and sat down with a smile.

"I am Maxe, by the way. What is your name?"

Ironel did not expect such familiarity and closeness from this young man, but he still answered.

"I am Ironel."

Maxe nodded and asked.

"If you don't mind me asking, why are you going to Dunedfree?"

"I myself go there for study at the University of Dunedfree," as the young man spoke, a hint of confidence showed on his face.

Ironel smiled at Maxve and then added.

"I want to take the Supernatural Art User – Basic Test."

Max took a deep breath and then nodded.

"Then, you should know about the "Language – Mindfree"?"

Ironel nodded.

"I am good enough."

Max nodded.

"You are young like me too. Do you have a phone? When you have time, we can meet up."

Ironel gave Maxte his phone number, as he believed he was no threat, and also it was not bad that he makes some friends.

After Maxte took the phone number, he did not speak much anymore and just closed his eyes to pass time.

Ironel copied him as there was nothing to be done in Flymech.
