Chapter 8 - 8- Let's Go Home!

"Oh, my God! Hahaha…" Lina doubled over when she couldn't control the laughter anymore. Sienna was sitting on the couch, comfortably sipping her wine.

"Sia… You're something…." Lina tried to hold back her laughter but cracked up again.

She couldn't believe that her friend, who used to be soft-hearted until a few days back, signed a consent form to cut her father's healthy leg.

If it was amusing, it was sad as well.

Her past life had made her a cold-hearted woman who had no empathy for those who failed her.

"Thanks for exchanging that file," Sienna placed the glass on the table, "I know my property file is safe with you, but whose file did you exchange it with?"

Lina picked up her glass and took a chug from it, "Don't worry. That's a fake file with fake papers. It's a plot in the suburbs of Chilean," She then bent ahead secretly, "It belongs to the Levisay group…"

"Oh!" Sienna's eyes went wide, "Good job. And thanks for making that call to the hospital. Dr. Greyson was in fits when he left the hospital."

Lina chuckled as she toyed with her glass, "Anything for my friend. I also jammed his phone for a few moments so that he couldn't contact his family."

Sienna was happy that the file her parents had was a fake copy of Levisay property.

Her parents would never dare to fight someone this powerful. Everyone knew about Levisay International and how they tackled bullies.

It was an open secret that the president of Levisay International was a dangerous man. Nobody had ever seen him, yet nobody dared to mess with him.

For the time being, she was safe.

Sienna checked her phone and then got to her feet, "I need to go. Mom and Ruby might reach the hospital any minute," She started putting on her jacket.

Lina also stood up and held her elbow hurriedly, stopping her midway, "Hey, Sia…"

Sia halted and looked at her friend, "Be very careful. Your family… especially your father… they are dangerous people…and now…" She hesitated a bit, "Now they have got…"

She trailed off when Sienna started shaking her head, "Tom?" she finished for her, "Don't worry, Li. If they have got Tom, then I've got me."

Lina could see sadness in those beautiful Emerald green eyes.

Sienna had long, dark auburn hair. Soft waves always framed her beautiful face. Her Emerald green eyes always complemented her beauty.

When she left, Lina kept thinking about her friend and the baby she lost in her past life. She wished she could go back in that life and change it for Sienna.

Her friend deserved happiness.

When Sienna reached the hospital, she made herself mentally ready to face the drama that was about to unfold before her eyes.

She opened the door of the private room where her father was shifted.

"Hello, Papa," She kissed the forehead of the man who was never polite with his daughters or his wife.

He was such a self-centered person that no matter what was going on, it was always about him.

Right now, he was under anesthesia, but soon, Sienna knew he would be screaming at the top of his lungs.

Well.

Too late. Nothing could be done now.

She went out and sat on the bench, waiting for her mom and Ruby. But the first person who arrived was her husband.

"Hello," He waved his fingers casually before sitting beside her.

Dressed in faded denim jeans and a simple black t-shirt, he looked effortlessly gorgeous. His jet black hair fell massively over his forehead, brushing the rim of his glasses.

Sienna couldn't deny the fact that the man had class. He knew how to carry himself. Too bad that he was jobless.

She raised her head to look at him, "What are you doing here?"

"Me?" He asked innocently, pointing his finger to his chest, "I'm here as your supporting husband. Or have you already forgotten that I'm getting paid for this?"

For some reason, Sia felt her cheeks burning up.

Of course. How could she forget that he needed to play this husband part well?

Before she could say anything, she saw Ruby and her mom charging towards her. Their faces were red as if they had been slapping their faces.

"What is going on?" Mrs. Mason asked loudly, looking around, "Where is the doctor?"

"Mrs. Mason?" Dr. Greyson walked to them, and Sienna didn't miss the drop of sweat trickling down his temple, though the air-conditioning was working perfectly fine.

"Mrs. Mason. Last night, I got a call from home that my daughter had been abducted. When I couldn't contact my family, I immediately left for home."

Dr. Greyson knew that he had made a blunder.

Big blunder!

His friend trusted him the most, and he broke that trust.

"Mrs. Mason… I'm so sorry, I was…" He couldn't get the chance to finish it because Mariana Mason held his collar and shook it brutally, "You asshole. My husband lost his leg because of you…"

Sienna wanted to laugh, but this was not the time to do it. It was time for her act.

"Mama," she quickly moved towards her mom, "Leave him. It was not in his hands," She started crying, hugging her mom, "You need to accept it that Papa lost his leg. Or he would have lost his life, Mama."

Ruby was standing there like a statue. For her, this was unexpected.

Last night, they left the hospital just like they did in the past life, thinking that Sienna would easily get blackmailed by her father's condition and hand over the property file.

They did get the file, but her father lost his leg.

Papa lost his fu*cking leg! Goodness!

And Dr. Greyson was responsible for it. How could a foolproof plan be destroyed like this?

"Wh…who…" Ruby's voice came out hoarse and low, "How is it possible?" She asked Dr. Greyson, "One needs to sign a consent form, and we did not sign any!" Her voice rose by the end of it.

"She signed it!" The young doctor from last night pointed towards Sienna, "She signed the form. We are not responsible."

His face glistened with sweat. He didn't want his career to end before it even started.

Ruby spun around to look at her sister, who had stopped crying. Mrs. Mason had also quit crying and was now shooting accusing glances at her.

"Sienna?" She whispered, "How could you!"

The tears were rolling down Sienna's face, "Try to understand, Ruby," She hiccupped, "He might have died…"

Ruby didn't even wait for her to finish and charged towards her, maybe to slap her. But then the familiar imposing figure not only blocked her way but also pushed her aside.

"Stay in your limits, ma'am," Hunter's cold voice echoed in the corridor. Sienna, who had hidden her face behind her arm, waiting for the impact of Ruby's slap, froze in shock.

Hunter was saving her. Again!

The skin on Ruby's forehead pinched, "How dare you touch me, Hunter?" She hissed, trying to free herself from his grip, but it was too strong to let go.

"Leave me, Hunter. What has gotten into you?"

Hunter wasn't saying anything but was holding her arm tightly.

Sienna tried to get over the initial shock and placed a hand on Hunter's shoulder, "Hunter. Please leave her. She is disturbed. We are family after all… please…" She pleaded, letting her fake tears glide on her face.

Hunter looked at her hand that was placed on his arm and then slowly let go of Ruby, "Let's go home," He suggested to his wife.

"B…But… my father is here…"

"Yeah. He is here, and you are the only one who stayed by his side. Now let them play attendants," He picked up her purse from the bench and held her hand.

His grip was extremely gentle but firm.

Sienna looked at her hand that was in his grip and then made a face as if she was cornered and had no choice except to go along with her husband.

In reality, she didn't want to stay here.
