Chapter 12 - 12- Might Steal Him

Sienna hadn't reached home, and Hunter couldn't ask her to keep him informed about her whereabouts.

In this contract marriage, neither of them was answerable to the other. That was the basic clause.

He took out his phone from his jeans pocket and dialed her number that was saved by the name Menace.

It seemed to be switched off.

"Damn!" He thought for a moment and then decided to go out and look for her. But then the doorbell rang.

He opened the door and found a drunk Sienna standing there.

"Hey, sexy!" She smiled coyly and placed her finger on his rough cheek, "Still not wearing a shirt? Hmm?"

He instantly reached out to catch her when she stumbled.

"Sienna?" He whispered and looked down as she leaned her cheek against his chest. Goodness. She reeked of alcohol.

Her eyes were half closed as she took a long whiff from his chest, "You smell so nice, Hunter Levisay."

"I just got to know that she visited Star Realty and Projects today," Logan informed him on the phone, making him go still.

"Star? What was she doing there?"

Star Realty belonged to Tom Blackwell, and Hunter knew how manipulative that punk could be.

With the phone still glued to his ear, he looked at Sienna, who was sleeping with her clothes and sandals on.

"Hunter!" She mumbled in her sleep. Hunter said a quick goodbye to Logan and walked over to her bed.

He crouched slightly and helped her gently out of her sandals, his fingers pressing briefly against her feet without meaning to.

If his mother were here, she'd have a heart attack. He never touched anyone's feet in his entire life.

He was fixing the blanket over her when she suddenly bolted up in bed.

"Go to sleep, menace," He held her by her shoulders and forced her to lie down.

"I … I can't…" She made a pout, falling back on the pillow as several tears rushed out of her eyes, soaking into the pillow.

"Why not?" He asked her gently and sat on the edge of the bed. She held his hand and placed his palm on her cheek.

"I'm… I'm scared…" She whispered and then broke into a laugh.

Uh huh. The woman couldn't handle alcohol well, yet she still decided to get drunk.

Before he could think of how to comfort her, she reached out and cupped his face to pull him down, "Why do you wear glasses all the time?"

Just a few moments ago, she had been scared, and now she had completely forgotten about it.

"I need to know your eye color," She placed her index finger on his shades and slowly dragged it down the bridge of his nose.

He held her wrist and raised it above her head, "Careful, menace."

She stared at him for a long second and made a pout, "Fine!" Her eyes suddenly welled up, "I'm not even interested."

A loud yawn escaped her mouth before she could stop it.

For some odd reason, Hunter found it funny.

She turned over to her back, staring at the ceiling, blinking slowly as sleep crept in. Hunter didn't know if he should leave her alone or stay here.

He decided on the latter.

"Go to sleep!" He murmured.

It looked like she had gone deaf because she didn't respond. Her eyes fluttered once… twice… then finally closed.

Her breathing evened out as if she had finally lost it.

Hunter swallowed hard as he kept looking at her innocent face.

How can a father be so cruel as to hit his daughter so cruelly?

Hunter wanted to kill the bastard, but then he reminded himself that his wife had already done the task.

He chuckled and leaned forward to get a closer look at her face.

"Who are you, menace?" He asked her sleeping figure. And in answer, all he got was light snoring. He took off his glasses to have a better look at her face.

He moved her hair back and then gave up, "I'm sorry, menace …" He whispered, "I know I should take your consent… and I know it's against the contract, but..."

He was not aware of what got into him. After bending more, he brushed a soft kiss against her pink, full lips.

"Goodness," He whispered, "You taste… You taste like sugar, Menace."

He gulped his saliva and leaned his forehead against hers, "I'm sorry... menace… I'm so sorry…"

Sienna bolted up in bed and checked the time.

"Shit!" Against all odds, she had a message from the HR department of Star Realty. They wanted to meet her at 9 a.m. sharp.

She got up and then had to plop back on the mattress. Her head was heavy.

Urgh… It was reeling.

Whatever happened last night, she didn't remember much. Right now, Hunter must not be home, and she needed to reach Star Realty on time.

This was her only chance to be closer to Tom.

Right now, the things on her mind were a shower, a cup of coffee, and an Advil. Yet she didn't have time for any of it.

She got ready and came out of her room, but bumped into a hard wall.

"Urgh! What the fu*ck…" Someone held her by her shoulders and steadied her.

"Easy there…" She was surprised to hear Hunter's voice.

Right. Where else would he go?

He didn't even have a job.

How lucky!

She walked past him hurriedly.

"Hey. Where are you going?" He called after her, but she kept dragging her feet forward.

"I've got an interview, Hunter, and I'm already late…" She didn't even look back and sensed him coming after her.

"Wait. Let me drop you."

She wanted to ask him how he would manage that when he didn't own a car, but then stopped dead in her tracks.

A jet black, glossy Lexus ES was parked outside the house.

She waved a hand towards the car in confusion, flicking her gaze to the car and then back to him, "The car… Hunter…"

Hunter cleared his throat, "It's my friend's…"

Her brows knitted together in suspicion, "Which friend is this who keeps giving you his house, his car, his everything? I need to meet him."

God! She sounded more like his mom than his wife.

Hunter opened the passenger door for her and then motioned her to sit inside, "Why do you want to meet him?" He asked her with a straight face.

Sienna gave him a tight-lipped smile and then brushed invisible dirt off his t-shirt, "Tell him to send his resume," she said lightly, "I might steal him as my husband," She finished it with a wink, leaving him momentarily speechless.
