Elaine felt her legs grow weak as she faced the dead end. Her fingers clenched into a fist and her brain ran in circles. The ice above her creaked even harder, but she couldn't let that distract her. Lain might have been able to brute force her way through the mountain, but Elaine's power was different.
After all, ice was meant for creation, not destruction. But with Lain incapacitated, she had to improvise.
Her fingers ran along the wall, strengthening the makeshift fortress. But for how long could she keep this up, it was impossible to tell.
With her ability to replenish nexus crippled, she was literally running on emergency fumes.
Elaine also seemed to notice this as she let out a frustrated sigh.
