Eros froze at the sight, his breath halting mid-way. Perhaps it was because he had already gotten used to the sword being nothing more than a useless piece of metal, but seeing it floating felt more surreal than fascinating.
"What the hell?" His eyes were glued to the sword but he didn't know if to go closer or create distance. After all, he wasn't naive enough to believe that the sword had unexpectedly heard his cry for help.
He continued watching the piece of metal, until it began vibrating at a rhythmic frequency.
The intensity of the vibrations grew with time. Soon enough, cracks began appearing on the surface of the metal sheath.
Seeing the current development, Eros couldn't help but grow excited. After all, if the sheath was broken that would mean he would be able to use the sword. Perhaps that might be the turning point he needed to salvage this situation.
