Chapter 6 - Alogrithm of the gods

Kael returned to his apartment with the ornate key burning lightly in his palm. The city hummed below him, oblivious to the tremors of power stirring just above its streets. He sat at his holo-screen, determined to understand the anomaly that had captured his attention.

When he opened his code files, the anomaly began rewriting itself. Lines of logic twisted and folded like living filaments, forming complex patterns that matched the spirals on the ancient tablet. Numbers became symbols, symbols became constellations of data. Kael felt a jolt, as if the code were alive, as if it were aware of his thoughts.

He reached out, touching a pulsating line of code. Electricity arced across his fingers—but not painfully. Instead, he felt warmth, like a pulse connecting him to something vast, something beyond comprehension. The room shifted again, walls bending, light fracturing into spectral colors.

This isn't programming… he thought. This is… creation.

Images flooded his mind: towering beings made of light, wielding weapons that bent reality, gods shaping cities and oceans as easily as clay. And beneath it all, a single constant—an echo of the mortal world he knew. Kael's pulse raced. Somewhere in the algorithm, he saw himself reflected—not just as a programmer, but as a participant in the patterns of the universe itself.

Suddenly, the holo-screen flickered. A translucent figure appeared, composed of shifting constellations. It spoke in a voice both mechanical and human: "Kael, the algorithm aligns with the cosmic patterns. You are awakened."

Kael jumped back. His apartment felt too small for the surge of energy he was sensing. "Who… what are you?" he whispered.

"I am Eloi," the figure said. "I am the Oracle of the Technoverse. I observe the convergence of technology, magic, and fate. You are the key to bridging realms, mortal and divine alike."

Kael swallowed hard, feeling the weight of the words. Oracle. Key. Bridging realms. He had chased anomalies before, had solved impossible codes—but nothing had prepared him for this. Somewhere deep inside, a spark of fear mixed with exhilaration. He realized, painfully, that the life he had known—of circuits, logic, and screens—was gone.
