Chapter 1 - Transmigration

Today was the same day as any others. Liu XiangCheng attended the class as any other day, but, before the class began, a blue light enveloped the whole class and a soft chime sounded.

Tun!Tun!

An ethereal angelic voice soon followed. "Dear children! You have been selected for the 'New World Project'! You'll be sent back to the start of the three kingdoms era soon. I'll answer three of your questions."

"Can we choose which year we go to? Will the people of the past accept us?" Someone asked.

Liu XiangCheng's throat tasted sweet iron, he felt his chest pierced by something sharp. He looked down to find a knife lodged in his heart. He slowly saw who held the knife. Fu XiaoYou laughed hysterically.

"I don't have to fear anything. Bye, bye eyesore!"

XiangCheng and XiaoYou were after the same girl. He didn't think XiaoYou would commit such a barbaric act just for a girl in these modern times.

He was very unwilling to die. He prayed to all the gods he knew, and all the ancestors he knew. He also prayed to the angelic voice he just heard. He prayed to save him, and he prayed to destroy XiaoYou if saving him was not possible.

He prayed till the end of the times in the dark void.

Finally, he saw a light. A light at the end of the tunnel.

He rushed towards it. He felt as though he was walking through deep sea, pressure unbearable, able to walk forward slowly with all his might.

After some time a pop sounded. All the pressure he was experiencing like tentacles holding him in place vanished. He was finally able to get to the light.

~~~~~
His body felt impossibly stiff. He couldn't move anything except his eyelids. He saw a girl wearing a qipao dress, who upon seeing him opening his eyes, abruptly stood up and shouted joyously.
"Young Master is Awake! Young Master is Awake! Young Master is Awake!"
Soon after a slightly older man came running shouting, "Send the word to the healer He Gen."
He came beside XiangCheng's bed and softly spoke, "Don't exert yourself, son. God has already given me a miracle."
XiangCheng could feel the parental love from the man. If the man knew the truth he would've strangled him right then and there. XiangCheng, unwilling to let go of his new lease on life, tried best not to show any emotion other than confusion.
The man reassured him constantly for the next few minutes until the healer He Gen arrived.
"Lord Gonglu, Your son has already passed the most difficult test. His blood and essence have drained to the maximum. Let him rest and slowly recuperate."
As soon as XiangCheng heard the name Gonglu, in his mind a light flashed. He was most likely the son of warlord Yuan shu, styled gonglu, Yuan Yao.
He was cared for by the maid Ren Liqin for the next six months. He could get up from his bed and sit now. Also his speech had returned to him gradually. He also picked up on the way people spoke in this period through a couple dozen people who visited him during this time.
As the time went on he became more interested in the events of the world. He tried to piece together the picture of current times.
From what he was able to gather, The Yellow Turban Rebellion happened four years ago. Their ferocity was so great that yellow turbans had ground mountains to dust in their warpath.
Even the death of leaders didn't put an end to this scourge. Hundreds of thousands of bandits spawned in the rebellion's wake plagued the realm. Even now roaming bands of yellow turbans tormented the local governors.
One of the fantastical feats during the rebellion was the leaders of the yellow turbans could cleave stone walls, cause torrential rain and drought, and curse people.
XiangCheng attributed all the fantastical achievements to propaganda spread by the Han Court. No one in the right mind could think some destitute ordinary people could do this.
Thus he heard more outrageous things more likely he thought all of it was false. He couldn't wait to see the world for himself.
He also thought about his classmates. Were they already in this world? If so, could he meet his friends?
