In a galaxy light-years away from Earth, a planet called Krypton would be seen.
With red skies and beautiful golden cities, Krypton looked perfect.
A planet with a rich civilization, advanced far beyond Earth, even with its quirks.
But despite the utopian image, inside the planet was crumbling slowly.
Two of the planet's many scientists, Jor-El and Lara-El of House El, had warned the Science Council of the possible extinction, begging the council to take action.
The ignorant council members denied them.
In the Kryptonian Year 9998, Jor-El and Lara-El were proved correct.
In the crumbling halls of the House of El's laboratory, Jor-El, a man with gray hair wearing white Kryptonian clothes, the symbol of the House of El implanted on his chest, was typing frantically on a computer.
You didn't need to listen closely to hear the explosions and screams outside.
A brunette woman with gray streaks in her hair held a bundle of blankets, a baby nestled in her arms. This woman was Lara-El.
The baby was named Kal-El.
Jor-El looked at his wife with worry and rushed, "We only have two more minutes."
Lara held onto Kal, almost refusing to let go as she looked at him with tears in her eyes.
Outside, a deep rumbling explosion sounded. Lara sobbed.
Jor-El looked at her with heartbreak in his eyes and walked to her. He placed an arm on her shoulder and took the baby from her arms softly.
He didn't look as Lara closed her eyes and covered her mouth. He placed Kal-El into the pod and, with one last kiss on the forehead, closed it.
Young Kal-El placed his hand on the top of the pod, big, bright blue eyes tearing up at the darkness as a muffled voice counted down.
Jor-El and Lara-El held onto each other, tears streaming down their faces as the pod shot out of the laboratory, out of Krypton entirely!
Carrying Kal-El into deep space, following was a gigantic wave of debris, radiation, and superheated plasma.
The pod carrying said infant soon arrived on planet Earth in the year 2226.
✦
On Earth Year 2026, an extraordinary event occurred. A baby was born in China, casting a bright light, rumored to be seen all over the world.
After that day, dozens upon dozens more events similarly occurred; no one knew the reason for these people born with such powers.
Before long, the supernatural became the natural, with 80% of society possessing these "Quirks."
But in those times, people used their gifts for evil; of course, with the evil came good.
A new profession rose from the ground up, a profession that allowed people with quirks to save civilians from these so-called villains.
Pro-Heroes.
In the year 2226, at 3:47 AM, something tore through the International Space Station.
Astronauts reported a silver blur punching through the Cupola at an astonishing speed.
The government called it a "Misuse of Quirks." It was the only realistic way for such a thing to happen.
They were wrong.
It was not a quirk.
But something…or someone, greater.

[Osaka, Japan, - Year 2226]
Near a hut, there was a vast farm with a variety of crops. This farm was owned by a lovely couple, named Ren Hara and Asuka Hara.
The entire year they had been trying for a child, until last week, when they learned that Asuka had a low percentage of bearing a child.
To get his wife out of her slump, Ren had taken her to a local garden, after returning to their farm…what lay there was a small crater.
And inside that crater was a sleek silver pod with a bold S over it and a triangle covering it.
They were both shocked. Ren, stumbling forward, touched the pod carefully as Asuka started to call the police, thinking it was something from a villain.
As soon as the pod was touched, it opened, revealing the form of a black-haired, blue-eyed baby.
Covering the baby was a red blanket with the same S symbol.
"Dear god, there's a baby in here!" Ren gasped.
"What?" Asuka gaped and stumbled forward, dropping the phone.
Ren picked up the baby, who looked at them with wide eyes and giggled.
"Ren…can't you see? He's a gift! We could raise him as our own." Asuka let out a tear, taking the baby into her arms.
"Asuka, are you crazy? The baby was found in a pod! He could be a government experiment or something, we need to call the authorities!"
"And then what? So what if he is? He is just an infant, Ren…we could raise him like he is our own, forge documents! My quirk would be perfect for it!"
⌁
Asuka Hara - Quirk: Memory Control! She can tweak a person's memory, but only slightly!
⌁
"Asuka, that is a crime!" Ren pleaded, "Think about this! We can not take in some random person's baby!"
"So what should we do!? Leave a baby to tests? How do we even know he is a government experiment? He could have been thrown by a villain for all we know! Ren…this is exactly the new start we wanted."
Ren's eyes visibly softened at that, looking at the baby, really looking this time at the wide innocent eyes.
His shoulder visibly sagged, and he let out a faint smile, "Yeah…it could be."
Atop the pod, strange symbols were carved in; if a Kryptonian were to read it, it would read as
"Kal-El, Son of Jor-El and Lara-El. Last Hope of Krypton"
But Asuka and Ren were not Kryptonian; all Asuka saw was a baby in need of a name.
Asuka looked at the baby in her arms with a soft and adoring look, "Kibo…Kibo Hara, because you gave us hope, little one."
✦
[Osaka, Japan - Year 2230]
It's been four years since the Hara family had taken in Kibo…and it was chaotic, really chaotic.
Kibo had shown signs of super speed only in the first 3 months of having him. When he began walking, he was found a whole other block over.
Of coure Ren and Asuka were ecstatic! Kibo had a strong quirk, so what if, when he was upset, he would zoom out and they wouldn't find him for hours?
Unlike kids his age, Kibo didn't often pay attention to heroes his age; he wanted to be one, sure, but not the ones on TV.
He just wanted to help everyone he could.
This added to the chaos in the household. The Hara's often running all over the farm and local town trying to find Kibo, only to find him saving small animals or doing chores for neighbors for free.
But..these weren't the only incidents. When Kibo turned three, he started breaking things easily without meaning to. The Haras had to buy 3 TVs in only 1 week.
Super strength, as well as super speed.
It did not help in the slightest that Kibo was an overexcited child, always going into town to help and play with the local animals.
The third incident occurred when Kibo turned four, the day the Haras found out their son was invulnerable.
When Kibo was out as usual, sneaking out again, he was chasing a wrapper that blew out to the wind. He was running after it to throw it out, cause to him, even littering was evil!
He chased it for a while and almost caught it when it blew in the streets.
He didn't see the truck approaching rapidly.
When the truck hit him, he didn't die; he didn't get hit back or even flinch.
Asuka heard the screech of tires, the sickening crunch of metal. When she rounded the corner, she went pale white.
Because she did not see her son dead, but the truck was dented around him.
She pulled him into a crushing hug, and when Ren caught up, he widened his eyes in shock.
People around were staring, some with shock, some with envy of a quirk like that.
The truck driver stumbled out, panicking, "I-I am so sorry! H-he just-"
Kibo blinked up at him, "I'm sorry about your truck, mister."
Asuka and Ren looked at each other, knowing and worried, and they decided it was time for Kibo to visit the doctor, the quirk doctor…of course, after taking him to a real one.
And so here they were, sitting in front of the quirk doctor as Kibo looked around boredly.
"Fascinating…Young Kibo here has one of the most confusing quirks I've ever seen in my career!" The quirk doctor let out.
Ren frowned, thinking that was not professional at all, and also worried about his son's predicament. "Is that a bad thing, doctor?"
Kibo stopped looking around and perked up at the doctor. He was still a child afterall, interested in learning his quirk.
"Oh no, no, just unprecedented. It seems your child has a strange energy source in his body; his cells are absorbing this energy and applying it to him in many ways."
"Like the super strength?" Asuka questioned
"Yes, exactly, I can't really tell what the energy is, I'd need to study more, but it could potentially be very versatile. But be warned, it is most likely that more abilities can appear in the future."
Kibo's eyes lit up; the only thing he got from that was 'More abilities.'
And so from that day, the doctor labeled his quirk as "Internal Energy."
✦
[Osaka, Japan - 2230] [2 Weeks Later]
Asuka looked down at the official Quirk Document, hands trembling.
Patient Name: Kibo Hara
Quirk: Internal Energy
Parents: Ren Hara, Asuka Hara
She was shaking, because unlike all those other documents, this one was not due to her memory alteration.
She altered the memories of 10 people, including her doctor, to make them think she was pregnant for 9 months.
Four of them were neighbors and friends, making them remember her with a swollen belly.
And the last five were nurses to make it seem like they helped during the pregnancy.
She manipulated 10 people. Used her quirk illegally…'Oh god what if we were caught?'
The thought came to her like a lightning strike. 'If we get caught, we could go to prison, Kibo would be taken from us.'
'But…we also might not.'
'If we did…it was worth it, because Kibo, no matter the blood relation, is our son.'
Asuka let a smile come to her face and resolved herself. No one had figured it out yet, and no one will.
