As our yacht drift further I can still see Kane and Leia being defiled by the maniacs at the docks, a small drop of tears wetted down my left eye, yet I wipe it and try to toughen myself, Rodrick notices my grief and sorrow for losing two youngsters that I have treated as my ch**d*n.
Yet everything is well as we landed at Nunavut, no infected greeted us, only empty lands, we set up camps near the shore, even though I have survived together with the other survivors, memories of Kane and Leia still flooding my mind, I keep getting headache's every time and every moment I remember them, with this I alone started gathering rocks and create two tombstone for them.
Everyday despite the normal life where every survivors are joyful and no longer afraid from the maniacs, I keep reminiscing the times I have been together with Kane and Leia, they were the two survivors that I survive longer than Rodrick and the others, I only kept my eyes on the sea as I sat down on a rock, thinking where have I gone wrong.
Day and Night, the corpses of Leia and Kane would haunt me, there screams echoing through my mind, both would nonstop mock me, both nonstop laughing for how pathetic of a group leader I was, and every now and then my son and daughter would also appear, it was a nightmare where Kane, Leia, my son, my daughter would appear nonstop mocking me and having the same crossed in their faces.
Guilt is the only thing I felt every time I look at the survivors I have save, even Rodrick would continue to support me from my grief and sorrows, he would try to comfort me every time I have an episode of my trauma, and everyday he would also join me praying at Leia & Kane's tombstone, he even help me build a tombstone of my son and daughter just so I wouldn't feel alone.
...
8 years passed by I have now grow old, the ch**dr*n has become teens, and couples give birth to new generation of bab**s, Rodrick even introduce me to his wife-Erica, she's now pregnant for the third time, despite the passing of days I would still remember the past with my son, daughter, with Kane and with Leia, our community grow larger and I have grown old, they even elect me as the Chief Elder.
We all have leave the shore and found a remote village back then where we decided to settle, yet even so I would walk towards the shore visiting the graveyards of those that have fallen from the maniacs, natural disease, and some that died from starvation. Every first day of any month I would come to visit Leia, Kane, my son, my daughter's graves as the past holds on to my hands.
Every time I visit the dead Rodrick would be there to accompany me, yet only I would have remain there for long hours until dawn, each time I look at the graves I would wonder, Why is it me that have to survive? Why do I have to live while this people die? Yet only the wind would have answered me, with nothing but a blow of silence.
When I came back at the camp I was greeted by Rodrick's ch**dr*n which have treated me as their grandpa, his wife also greeted me with a smile, every time I see the smile on their faces the heavy burden of guilt I have felt would lighten, and thus I decided to stay long for this new family I have, and protect the smiles of hope.
