"Rodrick, you should help Leia and Kane, you're the most skilled in our group, I'll go alone, we're running out of food, don't make any noise we wouldn't want to attract them." Rodrick immediately nods at my command without any complain, he is my most trusted and new companion on my journey towards north.
"Seriously Old Man, I and Leia can protect each other, you should have Rodrick with you. Leia and I can do it ourselves." Kane boasted at me that he and Leia can go alone, and Leia nodded agreeing with Kane.
"No I will not let both of you die, you two are the youngest, and Rodrick is more capable than both of you, even worse if one of you get's infected you might r@*e one another, so NO!!" I scolded Kane and Leia. I grew closed with the two for months of surviving together with them, I protected them always as I see my son and daughter in the two of them.

"Peter, over here, look at this." Rodrick's flashlight pointing at the silhouette of a person, the person trying to cover his eyes from the bright light flash in front of his face.
"Put that down, kiddo, his eyes might get damaged." I commanded Rodrick to lower his flashlight, to confront the k!d in a proper manner.
"Yeah don't worry we are not the bad guys here k!d, we are not like those sadistic smiling maniac?" Noticing the k!d shaking and is barely and weakly responding to my question, I have decided to give him a food.
"Yeah enjoy that k!d, regain that strength, so how long have you been hiding in this grocery store?" Despite me asking, the k!d didn't responded, he continues on eating the food I gave him, he is so hungry that even the chunks that fall on the ground, he would continue to eat.
"Hey kid answer the Old man!!" Rodrick growing impatient for the k!ds reply, he snap, yet try to remain composed, considering he is talking to a k!d.
"Don't be so frustrated, Rodrick, it's fine for me, besides it's just a k!d." With my calming voice I was able to light up the tension within the room, by the time the k!d finish eating, I and Rodrick continue searching the Grocery store that is half-empty.
"Hey kid would you like to join us? If you want to remain here we would leave some of the food, be careful." The kid didn't respond nor step in to follow our direction, then for a split second Rodrick pull out his pistol aiming at the k!d.
"NO!!!!" I shouted, yet I was too late, the k!d was already dead, his head lay flat first, and his body now lifeless, blood spill all over his head.
"Why did you do that, you f*ck ass crazy sh*t!!" I grab the collar of Rodrick, he surrendered yet with a silent guilt.
"If we leave the k!d alone here to survive, Peter, it will only make him suffer, it is better this way, than letting him get captured by the maniacs." Rodrick look away from my furious eyes, I put him down immediately understanding his choice and action.
We all finally regroup, Leia and Kane brought five more survivors, while I and Rodrick brought supplies we might need, the five other survivors has a vehicle, thus we decided to stick with them to head north, yet only a week later we were ambushed by aa group of maniacs, and only I, Leia, Kane and Rodrick survive and escape, the other group of survivors weren't so lucky.

As months passed by our group was already near north and we even got larger compared to back then, even other k!ds which are ch!*d*en of couples we are taking care of, our supplies dwindling thus we decided to take a risk of continuous advance through the north, some survivors weren't so lucky and left behind, and only a few remains.
