"Beep! Beep!"
Gentry immediately called a timeout.
"Boom!"
The Heat fans leaped to their feet, pumping their fists wildly as a deafening roar swept through the arena!
"Wow! That LeBron-Wade connection is still incredible. Still unstoppable. There's just no way to defend those two!"
Paul exclaimed excitedly.
"Hahaha!"
Anthony laughed as well. "Of course. That's LeBron and Wade we're talking about.
"When those two connect like that, nobody can stop them.
"They've scored four straight points to put Miami up two, and there are only 4.2 seconds left. The Suns are finished. We can start celebrating the Heat's championship already."
Across the arena...
Iverson grimaced.
"That chemistry between LeBron and Wade is almost impossible to stop. Phoenix is in serious trouble."
"Yeah."
Mutombo nodded. "Blake has already done everything he could, but sometimes a game really does come down to one or two possessions.
"And in the end, LeBron and Wade took advantage of theirs."
"Four-point-two seconds left, down two."
Iguodala shook his head. "The Suns absolutely have to score on this possession. If they don't, they lose the Finals right here.
"They're in an awful spot.
"And the pressure...
"It's enormous. I'm only watching from the stands, and even I can feel it just imagining myself in their shoes."
"It's over!"
"It's over!"
Psy and Koji Wada, both here to support Blake, clutched their heads and stared wide-eyed at the court, deeply worried for the Suns.
"Beautiful!"
"That's 'King James' for you!"
"Iron Mike" Tyson pumped his fist excitedly.
He could already sense a championship coming for LeBron and the Heat.
Four-point-two seconds remaining.
Phoenix down two.
Suns fans were crushed.
Heat fans were celebrating.
And with the game being played on Miami's home floor, the atmosphere had already become one massive championship celebration.
That only added even more pressure on the trailing Suns.
At the commentary table...
"Wow!"
Jon Barry stared in amazement.
"Another reversal! Back-to-back LeBron-Wade connections have seemingly put this game away!
"On the biggest stage, with the championship hanging in the balance, it still comes down to LeBron and Wade!"
"Exactly."
Mark Jackson nodded.
"With those two connections in the closing moments, both LeBron and Wade have reached 30 points tonight!
"'King James' and 'Flash' Wade have been rock-solid. Both have nerves of steel, and both know exactly how to make plays in the clutch."
"That's right."
Jon Barry continued, "The earlier altercation between Frye and Haslem threw the entire arena into chaos.
"For the Suns' young, emotional, inexperienced players, that clearly had an impact. Their play suffered afterward.
"That's one of the reasons Miami managed to erase a double-digit deficit."
"Absolutely."
Mark Jackson lowered his voice slightly.
"The Suns are still young. They struggled early tonight, and after the fourth-quarter altercation, their composure was shaken and their level dropped again.
"Those are all signs of youth and inexperience.
"But the 'Monster Rookie' Blake has remained remarkably steady.
"He hit eight threes and scored 30 points in a single quarter, and he now has 59 points for the game.
"Blake has been as consistently dominant and explosive as ever.
"Even so, Phoenix is still down two with only 4.2 seconds remaining.
"Winning from here will be incredibly difficult.
"But can Blake somehow save them one more time?"
During the timeout, everyone inside the arena was completely absorbed in the final moments of the game, each experiencing them in their own way.
This could be the final game of the season.
Soon, the timeout ended.
The final 4.2 seconds of Game 6 began.
Perhaps the final 4.2 seconds of the entire season.
Nash stood on the sideline to inbound.
Blake and Curry cut in opposite directions.
Wade stayed glued to Curry, while Bosh and LeBron focused on Blake, determined not to let Phoenix's two best shooters touch the ball.
George came over to screen for Blake, but the screen wasn't particularly effective.
"Whoosh!"
Blake cut toward the basket, then used George's screen to reverse direction and come back out.
LeBron stayed right with him.
No opening.
Curry was completely denied by Wade as well.
"The five-second count is almost up!"
A Suns fan shouted in panic.
Were the Suns about to turn it over?
No!
Nash knew the five-second count was running out too.
His eyes sharpened, and he fired the ball to Paul George on the left wing.
"Smack!"
George caught it.
Wide open!
"George is open!"
Coach Spoelstra screamed from the sideline.
George wasn't a great three-point shooter, but he could still make one.
So when he caught the ball completely unguarded, Miami instinctively panicked.
"Whoosh!"
Bosh immediately sprinted toward him.
Even if he couldn't block the shot, he had to at least get a hand up.
But they had overestimated the nerve of George, who was still only a rookie.
Holding the ball, George froze for an instant.
He couldn't move.
More precisely...
He couldn't bring himself to shoot.
After that brief hesitation, he saw Bosh charging toward him and immediately passed sideways.
"Smack!"
To Blake at the top of the arc.
"Why didn't he shoot?! He was wide open!"
Suns fans clutched their heads in disbelief.
It wasn't that George absolutely had to shoot.
The problem was how late he made the decision.
By the time Blake caught the pass, LeBron was already right in his face.
And the clock was still running!
4.2 seconds.
3.4.
2.9.
By the time Blake actually secured the ball, fewer than three seconds remained.
LeBron was practically draped all over him.
There was no time to hesitate.
No time to pass again either.
"Whoosh!"
The instant Blake caught the ball, he planted his foot and burst to the right.
One step.
Then a sudden stop.
He didn't care whether the defense was there or not.
"Thud!"
Blake rose straight up and launched the three.
"Thud!"
But the defender right in his face was "King James."
LeBron had anticipated the shot and exploded upward with everything he had.
He was about to block it!
"He's going to get blocked?!"
Curry's eyes went wide.
"It's over!"
On the Suns' bench, Carter felt his scalp go numb.
He knew exactly what this meant.
If Blake forced the shot, LeBron was almost certain to block it.
But if Blake didn't shoot...
The clock would expire.
Either way, Phoenix seemed trapped in a dead end.
"It's over!"
Countless Suns fans fell into despair.
But just as everyone expected LeBron to reject Blake's shot, their eyes suddenly widened in disbelief.
Because Blake did something no one expected.
As he rose into the air and LeBron came within inches of blocking him, Blake stayed suspended for an instant...
Then began to descend.
LeBron flew past the shooting window.
And while falling through the air, Blake released the three.
"Beep!"
The final buzzer sounded almost the instant the ball left his fingertips.
"Oh my God! A falling three-pointer in midair?!"
"Is it good?!"
Every pair of eyes locked onto the spinning basketball.
It traced a beautiful arc through the air.
Then...
"Swish!"
Nothing but net!
Game-winner!
Blake had somehow hit an almost impossible falling three-pointer, hanging in the air long enough to evade "King James" LeBron's block before burying the shot at the buzzer.
Blake had beaten the Heat at the horn!!!
