"Get off me, you damned Donkey!"
Edward tripped over a chair and fell beside Donkey.
"Admit it, Edward. You enjoy carrying a nobleman like me."
"I'll ask my father to have you beheaded. Just wait for that day."
Donkey used Edward as a footrest, placing his front hooves on Edward's back.
"Hahaha!"
The writers began laughing and throwing paper balls at them.
"Kaela, before I answer you, I noticed that you aren't from here. So tell me: why did you come to this city? Depending on your answer, I'll respond in kind."
Now that Seven Paths was closer to me, I was almost pissing myself with fear.
Of everyone in the guild, he was the most intimidating. The scars covering his arms looked as though they had been left by sword cuts.
"I want back what belongs to me."
"What did you lose?"
I sighed, rested my elbows on the table, and steepled my fingers. My palms faced one another, with only my fingertips touching like the roof of a house.
"I want my dignity down below back."
Seven Paths stared at me for several seconds. . .
"Are you drunk?"
"I already told you what I want. Now you have to answer me."
"Hmm, all right. As you have already seen, the adventurers in this guild aren't as strong or courageous as your team."
I suspected that he was drunk too.
"The monsters living beyond the city walls are extremely powerful."
That much I understood.
"Kaela gave massages to several ogres. You should have seen it."
"Huh?"
Hey, Seraphine! I told you to keep that a secret.
The people in the guild were startled and stopped writing.
"Incredible. Most adventurers can't even manage to beg for mercy when they face those monsters, yet you gave them massages."
"It wasn't a big deal. Anyone could have done it."
If he knew that I had only done it so they would spare my life. . .
I desperately wanted to disappear from this world.
"So you understand that the monsters are powerful?"
"Yes! But why are there high-level monsters listed on the guild board when everyone here is useless?"
Before answering me, Seven Paths stuck a finger into his nose.
"It's all a front!"
"The powerful monsters are a front?"
What were they hiding?
"Girl, what are you doing to my hair?"
"Hahaha! I'm hunting for lice!"
Seraphine hid the knife and untied his hair.
"By the way, Kaela, you have a scroll too, don't you?"
"That piece of garbage?"
I placed it on the table.
"Warning: I saw what you just said."
The scroll began to glow. . .
"Unlike the scrolls that cannot communicate, this one can. I don't understand why it's so different from the others."
Seven Paths picked it up and placed it beside his own.
"It may be able to communicate, but it's completely useless. Whenever I ask it for directions, it insults me."
I could tolerate being humiliated by Donkey, but being humiliated by a roll of paper was too much.
"What are you talking about? These scrolls are how we access the official Novellius store."
"What? I thought these scrolls guided adventurers during their missions."
"They do, but. . ."
"But?"
"See for yourself. Ask your scroll to show you the store."
Was this old man insane?
I picked up the scroll.
"Scroll, show me the Novellius store!"
"Warning: User Kaela Orion has requested access to the novel store. Loading. . ."
Was this a website?
What was happening?
Why did this world have a system for novels?
The scroll was showing me a website that looked like a novel platform. Its main page had a blue logo with the letter W.
"Warning: Official Novellius store loaded. If the user wishes to register, please submit a request."
The main page contained countless novels, recommendations, categories, and rankings.
Wasn't this supposed to be a medieval world?
Then again, that bum Altus Pervertus had been reading hentai.
"Your stories will earn us plenty of views, Lyra. You wouldn't mind if we published them, would you?"
"No! Are you insane?"
Lyra grabbed the old man's leg.
"Why can't we? You'll become famous. Imagine countless demons proclaiming your name down in Hell."
The old man's flattery made Lyra's eyes shine like sapphires.
However. . .
"That's everything I want in this world, but. . ."
"But?"
What were they plotting?
"The demons will find out that I stole a pair of panties from one of their kind and gave them to Kaela to wear."
"What did you just say, Lyra?"
Everyone pretended not to see me.
"You were going to expose me like that? You lunatic! I'm going to kill you right here!"
"Ow! I only wanted fame. . ."
Fame, huh?
"I'm not going to hit you right now because I have another problem to solve."
I needed to register on that suspicious website. . .
