Synopsis
Do you remember, Katharina?" he whispered to the empty darkness. "And You looked so terrified." He laughed, a dry, rattling sound. He stood up, shaking off the debris of a decade. "You asked me... 'You thought I want it for a quick heal, Katharina?'" He mocked his own past intensity, tracing the stone rim of his sarcophagus. "You think I’m like those common leeches out there, hiding in the sewers, afraid of a little holy water?'" He took a deep breath, his eyes flashing in dark red in the dark "No. If one of them even touched a drop of this no they'll will die pathetic. But look at me Still here, Still whole." He bore his fangs feeling the power surge. "'Too pure for them. But I am a Pure-Blood vampire.'" He looked up toward the sealed entrance, where a sliver of daylight cracked through. "The False Immortality now' ends," he growled, the promise finally coming to fruition. "No more hiding in the shadows. I will walk under the sun and watch it burn everyone else to dust." He smiled, his fangs glinting. "And you... my darling will die with your whole damn empire .."

Chapter 1 - The Lost Vampire

The moon was at its highest, but it brought no comfort his undead body. The wind carried a thick, metallic scent of blood.

Everywhere Damien looked, it was pure chaos. The Great Transylvania, once a city fluttering with life, was now dead and gone to perish.

As he moved forward, the scattered bodies seemed to curse and scream at him from the ground. Nearby, the church that once stood high and mighty gave off a holy aura that burned Damien's entire existence like a slow, invisible flame.

"Please... please help me I'm bleeding!" a old man screamed, stumbling directly into his path.

Damien didn't care. This mortal meant nothing to him. He remembered being an ordinary human on this world but now that life felt like a dream.

Now, He was a Vampire

Not just any vampire a pure blooded vampire, a creature far above such pathetic beings like this.

Damien stepped on the man's chest applying pressure until ribs snapped. And with a lazy kick, He sent the screaming man flying through the air. The old man hit a stone wall and died on the spot.

He began to move toward the church. Damien didn't even look back.

He stepped through the heavy oak doors of the church. The air inside was stifling, thick with incense and the overwhelming scent of divinity that made his skin crawl still burning. .

But then, he saw her.

"fuck" he whispered to him self.

Katharina. The woman he had fallen for back when he still had a mortal heart. Even now, as a creature of the night, her beauty made him pause.

She was dressed in white priestess robes. her eyes closed in deep concentration. She was kneeling before a massive statue, praying to the Goddess.

Her Goddess.

The vampire blood boiled the thick sensation that usually preceded a violent killing frenzy . Seeing her praying to a false god bowing her head to a stone statue made his fangs ache.

"You should not have come here, Damien. This place is not for your kind."

Katharina stopped her prayer and slowly stood up, turning to face him.

"Damien," she whispered her voice trembling slightly.

"What have you done to you're self?"

Fheew

One moment he was in the shadow by the distant entrance. In the next heartbeat an instant too fast for any human eye to catch.

Heavy oak pews and prayer benches were caught in his speed, splintering into toothpick like matchwood. The wooden chairs near the altar exploded into clouds of dusts.

Now he was standing directly in front of her.

"A fake goddess" he spoke, his voice was low, his fang barely visible as he bared them.

They aren't false, Damien," she whispered, her voice barely hearable.

"Not to those who believe. Not to those who still have hope."

Damien let out a mocking laugh that sounded more like a wolf howling .

he slightly turned to his back "Hope? just fucking look around you Katharina. I slaughtered and killed and you're city lacked the strength to defend it."

his eyes now gazing at the statue behind Katharina

"No you're goddess lacked the strength..... You goddess' did nothing while I painted these damn streets bloody red."

"She didn't stop you because it was a test!" Katharina shouted looking deep in to his red eyes.

Damien took a step closer, his face inches from hers. her beautiful blue eye's meeting his. he couldn't stand it.

"it made you mad didn't it" Damien chuckled He turned his back on her, seemingly bored.

"Anyway, I didn't come here to have a lovey dovey chat with you"

"Or take you away from your kind little goddess" he sneered, looking back at her over his shoulder.

"I just want what is mine."

"You have lost me when you became what you are" Katharina spoke her voice trembling but her gaze steady.

"The boy I loved died the night you turned in to this filthy monster."

The words hit him harder than any wooden spike, For a second Damien dead heart ached. It was a damn weakness he despised.

"Hahaha!"

The laughter stopped as abruptly as it began. He glared at her, his eyes burning red.

"Not you, damn it!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the church, "I'm not talking about us Katharina!."

"You know what I came for, Katharina" Damien said

"The Elixir of Life"

Katharina stared at him the shock on her face still present. She didn't step back.

She didn't tremble. Instead, she placed herself firmly between Damien and the altar inside of the statue.

"You are a fool Damien" she said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "The Elixir of life isn't a simple potion" Damien. "It's the tears of the GoddessAphrodite herself. In your hands, it would become just a poison."

Damien chuckled, cracking his neck. "I'll take my chances. Now fucking move it will you. I'd rather not stain those pretty white robes of Yours."

"I cannot let you take it."

"can you really stop me Katharina"

"I know you could never hurt me Damien"

" is that so"

fheww

Damien vanished.

he moved in a flash, He reached for her throat his claws extended like a true beast in night. Aiming not to kill her, but to toss her aside so he could shatter the damn statue.

Flash.

A blinding wall of white light erupted from Katharina's skin.

Damien hissed, moving backward suddenly before his hand touch her skin. It felt like sticking his flesh into pot fire. Smoke came from his fingertips the skin burning and peeling slowly. He backflipped away clutching on to his burnt hand.

"Damn holy magic," Damien smiled, staring at his regenerating skin. The burns healed in few seconds, but the pain stayed as an annoying stinging reminder of his old human life.

"Since when the little cat grew tiger teeth, Katharina?"

Katharina stood amidst the fading dust, her hands raised. The golden light didn't fade. She looked terrified, but her hands were ready.

"Since I realized monsters like you were real," she answered plainly"

"Hahaha Impressive"

Damien was already began to move running along the side of the walls of the church as a shadow defying gravity itself.

"But you're too slow" his voice echoing from everywhere and he disappeared again

"where is he" Katharina muttered under her breath

sweesh

Damien appeared from the wall behind her he had a wide smile in his face Before she could turn he struck not with claws but with a wave of dark fog like shadow.

Katharina gasped, thrown forward across the floor. She tried to stand but failed dropping up at the foot of the statue, coughing up blood.

Damien walked toward her slowly his walk was like a snake unimaginably silent . The playfulness was gone from his face replaced with something mixed with pity and sadness.

"I told you," he said coldly, gazing down at her. "Your God lacks strength."

"Open it," Damien said plainly. ". I can smell the disgusting holy magic sealing it. And i also know only a high priestess can break the seal. make your self useful will you"

Katharina grit her teeth, blood dripping down her chin. Her blue eyes burned with defiance. "And if I refuse?"

Damien leaned down whispering into her ear, his voice lack of any human warmth.

"Then I will go back outside. I will find every little survivor hiding in this city. Every child, every women and I will suck them dry one by one, while you watch."

He pulled back to look at her face, smiling cruelly.

"So, Katharina... how much do you really love your People?"

.....

Katharina looked at the seal, her fingers trembling "Damien please... if use the The Elixir of Life you will definitely die"

"Oh now you care."

The stone seal at the middle of the statue cracked with a sound like a thunderclap. As the heavy slab slid aside, a blinding radiance filled the dark dusty church.

There it was. The Elixir of Life.

It sat in a crystal vial that seemed to be filled with holy aura. The liquid inside pulsed with a rhythmic, white glow a pure divinity. To a human, it was a miracle. To Damien, it was nothing but shit from goddess of selfishness.

"Finally" Damien breathed, his red eyes reflecting the white light.

He shoved Katharina aside, his hands trembling with a hunger he had never felt in all countless blood he drunk from mortals. He reached into it his fingers closing around the cold crystal. The mere touch of it made his skin burn and smoke.

it was power of the Goddess Aphrodite and her holy power that seems to even overpower his dark abilities.

He popped the cork The scent of a Pink Astilbe spread overwhelming the blood scent in the air of the church.

"This" he snarled, looking at the pink liquid "is all I came for." The air in the church grew impossibly cold, the candlelight struggling against the sudden oppressive darkness radiating from him. The dark aura from Damien intensified.

Katharina didn't look at the elixir. She kept her eyes locked on Damien. Ignoring the holy power radiating from the Elixir and the dark aura that Damien unleashed . A single tear slipped through the dust on her cheek, but her voice was steady.

"Damien You're wrong " she whispered taking a slow step toward him, ignoring the danger. "You came here for Elixir... I know."

"But you also came because you couldn't be away from me admit it . Even now, with all that dark blood in your veins I know you still feel it. I know you feel me."

"Let go of the Elixir I just don't want you to die" Katharina said, her voice shaking but resolute to ignore the suffocating dark aura overflowing from him.

Damien stared at her, his red eyes searching hers . The dark aura surrounding him whipped violently, a storm of conflicted emotions tearing him inside apart.

"Why care"

"Why care now"

"After you chosen your damn goddess over me." slowly his fangs retracted with a smile, he stepped forward "You made your choice back then, Katharina," he murmured his voice dropping to a whisper. "Why come crawling back to the monster now"

Katharina didn't flinch at his tone or the malice in his gaze. Instead she took the final step. closing the distance between them entirely. With a trembling hand, she reached up, placing her palm gently against his cold undead face.

Her hand on his face felt wrong for him too warm against his cold skin. but those blue eye's For a moment, the centuries of blood lust vanished, leaving only the mortal boy that loved Katharina.

THUD.

The sound was dull, wet, and sickeningly familiar.

Damien's eyes widened. A sudden, cold shock bloomed in the center of his chest. followed by a tearing agony that felt like his soul was being ripped in half.

He looked down. A thick and long splintered tip of an ancient oak stake was penetrated through the middle of his chest, It had been driven with such force that it had pierced his spine and come out the other side.

"Unholy creature " a gravelly trembling voice hissed behind him. "You shall not touch the priests chosen by our goddess." Damien coughed, a spray of thick black blood hitting the rough floor. He turned his head slowly his vision blurring but he clearly saw.

Standing behind him was the Head Priest of the church.

The old man was covered in white, his robes pure, his hands shaking as he gripped the wooden stake he had used to drive through Damien's heart.

"how... how did he conceal himself this well"

He had been hiding using the Arcanist's Magic that could even rival a of Pure blooded vampire abilities. waited for the one moment the vampire guard was truly down.

"No..." Katharina screamed, falling to her knees.

Damien legs gave out, and he hit the floor with a heavy sound. The wooden spike scraped against the stone, sending fresh waves agony through his body.

The Elixir of Life fell from his fingers.

it shattered.

splashed across the cold, dirty floor, soaking into the cracks of the stone.

Katharina let out a strangled cry, watching the miracle of her Goddess disappear into the dust.

"It was necessary," the Bishop spat looming over Damien. He was clearly upset even look at the wasted miracle with tears his eyes. but then they were fixed hatefully on the vampire.

"it's better for elixir of life be wasted in the dirt than get in the hands of this monster. Let him die thirsty."

Damien still kept a crooked, mocking smile on his face.

"Ahh I forgot the fucking bishop"

So this is it Damien thought." After all this time I'm going to die on a damn church"

Damien wasn't looking at the Priest.

His eyes were locked on a single, shimmering pink drop that had clung to a his nose inches away from his eyes. It pulsed with a white light, refusing to be absorbed by air.

it was like rain drop

then He looked at her.

Katharina was on her knees, her blue eyes wide with horror, tears streaming down her face, her hand reaching out to him across the distance he had created between them.

"it was betrayal then" Damien let out a small chuckle.

At that moment he dissolved right into the floor, his dark essence soaking into the cracks of the ruined floor. His mocking smile was the last thing to vanish .Sinking into the earth as if the darkness itself was reclaiming him.

Damien was dead.

"He is gone," the Bishop let out a small laugh, clutching his wooden spike. "The monster is no more. and even if he drink it it would be a deadly poison it's over"

Katharina didn't answer.

"is he really dead"

tears streaming down her face, Katharina stared at the spot where Damien had been.
