Chapter 2 - Disappear

"They were supposed to seal my power," he muttered.

If his abilities had been sealed, then even with the System's appearance, he would never have escaped.

But from Margaret's perspective, why bother sealing a mere Level 1 Beast Tamer who only had an ordinary owl?

Even though relief flickered inside him, Leonardo didn't lose focus.

His room wasn't beside a window. That meant he only needed to pass through a wall to escape.

But he was in the center of the top floor. Considering the size of the building, how many times would he need to teleport just to get out?

Not realistic.

His gaze fell on a wardrobe.

He opened it. Inside were patient clothes—and a complete surgical uniform, including a full-head medical mask.

Leonardo chose the latter without hesitation.

Only as a "doctor" could he move freely.

After changing, he stepped toward the wall.

Through his connection with space, he could sense the room next door—even the presence of people inside.

It was identical to his own.

Two patients were sleeping.

Clearly recent Class Transplant recipients, now in recovery.

Whoosh!

Leonardo teleported instantly.

Unlike his room, this door wasn't locked.

He opened it calmly and stepped into the hallway.

Wearing surgical attire drew strange looks from several nurses, but he ignored them. He entered the nearest elevator, descended to the first floor, and exited through the back door into the staff parking area.

He was almost surprised by how smooth it was.

Even though unease lingered, he didn't hesitate.

Once he reached the parking lot, he teleported into the trunk of a car that had just started moving.

And just like that, he was carried away.

---

Now the question was different.

How could he clear his name?

If his name wasn't cleared, peace would be impossible. The Harvey Family was the most powerful family in City Z.

Unfortunately, no matter how he thought about it, there was no solution.

So he shifted to something more practical.

Where to hide.

As a Beast Tamer, he wasn't required to personally fight. As long as his monster leveled up, he would level up as well.

That would be possible—as long as he added a killing-type talent or skill to Ellie.

Eventually, the car stopped at another parking area, which appeared to be the underground parking lot of an apartment building.

'There must be empty units here,' he thought.

The parking area was quiet. A new building.

Most apartments were probably still vacant.

After waiting until the car owner left and confirming no one was nearby, Leonardo teleported out of the trunk.

Instead of heading for the elevator, he looked upward.

Approximately five meters high, with perhaps a one-meter floor thickness.

He could teleport directly to the first floor.

When he did—

He appeared at the bottom of a swimming pool.

His stamina drained sharply.

He swam up in a hurry and tore off his medical mask.

"Fuh!"

He inhaled deeply several times, accelerating his recovery.

The pool wasn't empty—but it wasn't crowded either. Each person was far enough away from him.

Leonardo kept his movements subtle.

His eyes shifted upward.

The second floor was a restaurant, and there were restrooms there.

After recovering enough, he teleported into one of the empty toilets and rested again.

He repeated the process—teleporting floor by floor—until he finally stopped at the 52nd floor after night had fallen.

The apartment was clearly unoccupied. Most facilities were still wrapped in plastic.

He didn't know whether it would be sold soon.

But exhaustion overtook caution.

He lay down and slept.

---

Meanwhile, at Neptune Star Hospital—

Margaret Harvey arrived with more than twenty men in black suits.

She wore tailored trousers and a white shirt. Her blonde hair was neatly tied up.

Combined with pitch-black high heels, despite being only seventeen, she carried herself like a professional woman in her mid-twenties.

Her gaze was indifferent.

More than ten doctors greeted her, led personally by the hospital director—a white-haired elderly man who appeared wise on the surface.

"Welcome, Miss Harvey. We've been waiting for you. Your treatment is fully prepared. Would you like to go to your room now?" the director asked respectfully.

"I want to see him first," she replied.

"You mean Leonardo Anderson? Of course. Let's go to his room."

The director personally led her, followed closely by her bodyguards.

For a while, every elevator was occupied by her entourage.

They soon arrived at Leonardo's room.

The director unlocked it himself and pushed the door open.

The bed was visible immediately.

Empty.

The handcuffs and restraints that had bound Leonardo were still there.

Margaret's golden eyes, which blinked occasionally, stopped blinking entirely.

"What is the meaning of this, Director? Don't tell me he went to the restroom."

The director froze.

He looked at the other doctors, all equally stunned. Nothing like this had ever happened before.

"Check the CCTV," Margaret ordered.

The director began sweating.

"M-Miss… there are no CCTV cameras inside hospital rooms."

Of course there weren't. It was a patient ward. Monitoring patients with cameras would make them uncomfortable.

"Damn it!"

Margaret slapped the director across the face.

"Find him. Search the entire city if necessary."

Her voice was calm again.

But colder than before.
